Question about post-treatment

Hello,

I stumbled across this website tonight and had a quick question! I just had my first laser treatment (chin and neck) on Monday morning (I’m almost certain the office uses the Diode LightSheer), and the practitioner told me that by Tuesday morning the hair should be falling out after exfoliating with a warm washcloth.

Well, today is Thursday night and I still have a lot of hair that has not fallen out. At this point they look like a bunch of blackheads on my chin and neck and it’s very embarrassing to go into work this way.

Some background: I’m 22 years old and I have very fair skin (1 or 2) with auburn hair on my head, though the hair on my chin and neck comes in much darker (basically black). My question is how should I go about removing the rest of the hair that has not fallen out? I have plucked a few hairs and it appears that the laser did penetrate the hair, so I am not really sure why it isn’t falling out on its own after exfoliating a few times a day. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am going to call my doctor in the morning to let them know, but figured I would get some advice from you all as well! Thanks so much!

Just leave it alone and it what’s meant to fall out will fall out, it could take up to three weeks, the best thing to do is just carry on with your regular wash regime, ive had the same areas done as you and mine don’t begin to shed for at least 1 week prior treatment.

shedding happens between 1.5-3 weeks for most people. you should be patient and wait it out. however, i do suggest that you read past experiences of men who had their faces treated. you need to make sure to have correct expectations and that whoever is treating you knows what they’re doing. it’s a hard area to treat.
