My name is isobelle and this is my first post, I need your help. I have sideburns which i am very self concious about. i would like to laser them however i want them to appear finer and lioghter rather than go completly. So i have a few questions.
If 6-8 treatments makes hair permanetly reduced for a while, how many treatments on average will it take for hairs to appear finer and less noticable? I know it depends on the individual but an estimate will be fine.
Also, after lasering will the hairs stay fine permanetly or will they return to its coarse and dark colour again?
If anyone can help it will be really helpful. Just to tell you i am Italian so i have light olive skin.
how much hair do you have on that area? can you estimate #of hairs? if you want a reduction there and not completely removal, you may want to consider electrolysis as well as it removes hair one by one and you’ll have more control over what’s gone and what’s left. laser will possibly get rid of everything or most of the hair in that area in 6-8 treatments. and no, either way, the hair won’t get coarse again.
Thanks for the reply. I have too much hair there to have electrolysis done. I think i am going to try laser, i don’t have patience to keep waxing and besides it looks obvious when i do. Although the hairs there are not that coarse they are quite dark.
I am going for a consulation soon so i will keep you all updated in case some one has a similar problem. I just hope i dont change my mind again.
You just need to realize that laser doesn’t work that well on fine hair, especially on a woman’s face (and some report induced growth from laser on this area, i.e. more hair than what you started with is a possibility when treating fine hair on this area for some). no matter what a clinic tries to tell you to sell you treatments.
Please read the FAQs so you know what type of laser to look for first. It’s not that it’s “too much hair for electrolysis”, but basically if laser is not a good option for your hair and skin type and you want permanent removal, it is the only permanent option in that case. Just read the FAQs so your expectations are realistic.
