I have been plucking my chin for 3-4 years and am tired of doing it and it has affected my skin in that area quite a bit. I only pluck once a week but the hair has gotten thicker and more noticeable over the years. Needless to say, I am ready to move on.
Should I get laser first and then follow up with electrolysis? I am scared of getting burned. Should I go to a dermatologist for laser first? Is there any recommendations in the Inland Empire or LA areas?
I also recently got Vaniqa. Should I try this first and if it doesnt work proceed to laser or electrolysis?
Honest to God, don’t do temporary, expensive stuff like Vaniqa and don’t do partial stuff like laser for the chin area. Go straight for electrolysis. You won’t be sorry. Electrolysis can see all hair colors on every skin color. Go the direct permanent route with ELECTROLYSIS. Find a good practitioner and you will save money and time. The chin area is not a big hurdle for a professional; electrologist with quality, powerful tools. Don’t put yourself in a flatline, blue funk with methods that may take you only so far.
Vaniqa is not an alternative. It just slows down the growth by applying it very often, and it’s expensive. It will be cheaper and more cost-effective to get rid of the hair permanently than to keep buying it forever.
How much hair do you have? Can you give us an estimate of how many hairs you see? Are all the hairs coarse and dark?
If you don’t have a full beard of hair, electrolysis will be a much better option for you. Laser is an overkill for a relatively small area and there is a chance of increased growth on a woman’s face if the hairs are not very coarse, dark and dense.
I can recommend several electrologists in Hollywood or on the West side of LA. There are probably others in your specific area that you can find via a link on the electrology section of this forum.
