Skeptical- Need advice

So i have been doing a lot of research lately on this forum and others. I am now looking around at a good quality place to get the procedure done. I just received this reply via email and i was a little skeptical with the time frame and laser garble. Does this sound right to you? I believe they use a Lyra-i laser.

Hi Drew,

We will give you a FREE 15 minute consult.

After you meet the doctor we provide a written estimate of price for you.

During the month of July ’07 we have a special 20% reduction in price paid.

Letters were sent to our existing patients only, but we will extend this offer to you.

We recommend only 4 treatments one month apart because our Laser is more effective and safer CLASS IV operated by M.D.

Other centers use CLASS II Lasers operated by aestheticians. It is not ideally suited for Brown, Black or Tan skin tones & you need 6 or more treatments.

Our price for each session is lower.

Therefore the total cost is much lower.

It can not be beat this month.

I am not the LASER expert, but that sounds like hype to me.

I would guess that they would be telling you how your hair is much tougher than expected 4 months from now under what I read there. Of course, by then they already have your money. Maybe they would then give you some “Free Treatments” then.

Try this on for size: we get you in the door promising, 4 treatments in 4 months, and you are done, we then tell you that you have a worse problem than we thought, and “give you 4 more free treatments” then we will have done 8 treatments in 8 to 9 months. Now don’t you feel like you got your money’s worth now?

Yea thats kinda what I thought. Whats this talk of the “super laser”?? So with this laser you only have 4 treatments and only a month apart? From what Ive read on this site…Im not thinkin so.

Marketing. But that doesn’t mean this place is bad. You should check the lasers they have, who will be working on you and how much experience they have and run a search on the clinic to see what other’s think.

Lyra is not a good Yag. It has a tiny spot size. If you have light skin, you shouldn’t be treated with any Yag, you would need an alex. Anyone who tells you it’s the cheapest you will find is just hyping it up to make you not research other clinics. I would guarantee you can find a better clinic with better lasers at a lower price. It’s almost always the case. The good clinics don’t have to resort to these marketing tactics.
