Skin discoloration on the neck normal??

Still having my neck and upper cheeks treated with electrolysis but I have definitely come a long way!
I am having my neck treated with microflash and my upper cheeks with blend.
It has been a week since my last treatment and my results are excellent i only have to go in every 2 weeks now instead of once a week.

I am kind of worried though with my neck. Now that the scabs, redness, and swelling are really starting to diminish i realized the skin on my neck that is being treated, is darker then the areas that have not been.
I don’t know if my skin color will go back to normal or this is a sign of scarring, or is permanent :(? maybe the skin is thinner on the neck so it takes longer for it to heal.

has anyone ever heard of this “darkening of skin on the neck from electrolysis” or seen this before? please let me get some advice…

Melanin is a part of your immune system and for people who are “melanin enhanced” are more likely to have temporary darkening of the skin while the repair process is going on. The skin will return to normal if repeated and constant re injury does not take place. This is one reason why permanent hair removal is so important, as people with ingrown hairs, will never have even skin tones, until the skin is not being re-assaulted by new ingrown hairs as it is trying to heal from the previous crop of offending lacerations. While “melanin challenged” people don’t have this problem, they can have the opposite problem of temporary light spots in the skin while it is healing.

Make sure you are having vitamin C and Zinc and you will have what your body needs to heal up well.
