What is this SHR ? It’s much cheaper than laser here… instead of 3000 NIS for the full body which is what the top lasers cost here … it’s 600-800 NIS for the full body… which is a 1:5 ratio …
I had a quick glance. There is no mention of permanent hair removal. Highly suspect, just from a wording perspective. What is not mentioned is often is more telling. No promises here at all IMO.
Remember that it is up to you to research as much as you can so you are able to make an informed decision. Consider your own circumstances, your skin and hair type, your time and financial constraints. Goodluck.
It can actually depend on many things- Some lasers are more suited to different skin/hair combos, many people argue that IPL is less effective, I can’t even find any proper information on whatever ‘dermaflash’ treatment is (the actual product ‘dermaflash’ found is a skin analysis machine. It seems more of a renewing facial than anything else.
I wouldn’t go for this, if it were me. What the woman at this clinic said is a gross oversimplification and that seems a bit ‘off’ to me.
When something sounds too good to be true, it might just well be. If you decide to do this, go in with caution.
Gosh the price and the place was much more inviting than the other places I’ve gone to… and this isn’t traditional IPL… it’s like low energy something… and it’s way less painful and I’d appreciate that seeing as I will be doing full beard and body…
“The guy [at the clinic] said there would be a 90% reduction!”
Q. Ask the guy what “reduction” means? Does it mean “reduced hair for 6-months and then it all grows back?” Or does this mean, “90% permanent hair removal … forever?”
If the guy says he can cause “90% permanent hair removal?” Then …
Q. Ask him how many times you will have to be treated to achieve this end?
If you can, get this IN WRITING!
If you don’t feel comfortable asking for a “writing,” then write down what he tells you, i.e., take notes. Do the “note taking” in front of the guy and then ask him if your “notes are correct.” Sign and date the notes yourself and keep them in a safe place.
If possible, photo-document your progress over the next year or so and report your progress here on Hairtell. Doing this will GREATLY help you, and provide all of us some valid information.
Be sure to take “before photos” … GOOD ONES! By photo-documenting your progress, and posting them here on Hairtell, you will tell your story, and help you corroborate your treatment success (or failure). Posts are “time-stamped” and that will verify dates.
Israel is usually WAY ahead of all of us in laser technology … so, I’m hoping for some really good results and a good story too!
I’m pretty sure SHR is just a name they have given their version of LHR to make it stand out.
Whichever of the two Soprano machines it is, it will be a Diode Laser. I personally wouldn’t fall for the pain-free stuff. The thing that should concern you is whether it will deliver results.
I haven’t heard anyone claim to have achieved permanent results from Soprano treatments. If you want to go ahead, I’d advise one body area to test it out and definitely not the face. Treating the beard is risky enough even with a proven machine and settings because you can’t predict if the results will be patchy.
Will post a topic with pictures and progress later on.
Decided not to go along with the SHR clinic.
Very unprofessional… liked the lady who worked there a lot…
but the guy seemed to be really concerned with money and gave me a v. expensive price and said he’d only do cheeks and neck (380 for the beard when you said 600 full body on your site? I was looking particularly flawless yesterday but give a boy a break!)
If he’s looking for quick money then this is my body and I want the best for it.
Looking into a place doing half arms, beard, neck, armpits, chest, sromach, and lower back for 1500 NIS… the women wouldn’t work on a guy’s legs/privates and they have no male specialist to work on me.
They have an Alexandrite a YAG and a Diode… though I wonder what works best on a pasty type 2-3ish skin no tan and dark course hair ? Also how long should a session to laser all these areas last? They’re very busy so they’re giving me an hour would that be enough ?
For Type 2-3, an Alexandrite Laser would be your best option. Diode would also work.
The time depends on how conscientiously the treatment is done (i.e. with proper overlapping). Half arms alone should take about 45 minutes. Legs usually take 1.5 hours. Underarms 15 minutes. You should be able to judge how long the other areas should take based on this. An hour for all that would be a rushed treatment.
