Tampa Bay

Any reliable places in Tampa bay? I will appreciate any information! Thanks!

You need to figure out what you need first. Not all clinics will have the right machine for your skin type for example.

Please read the FAQs below first.

I read FAQ and I visited some of the clinics in the area already. I am a type II female and as far as I know GentleLase is best for me. Please, correct me if I am wrong. I just wanted to find any reviews about local LHR places.

My point was that there was no way to recommend a clinic for you without knowing what type of machine you’re looking for. Most clinics only have one kind.

What area are you treating? Is the hair dark and coarse?

You should run a search here first for Florida and/or your city name to see past discussions about your area. You can also visit Candela Corporation website and run a provider search with your zip code for this specific laser. There is a sticky post on this forum outlining all the ways to find a good clinic.

Thanks for your responds!
The hair is dark and coarse, and the skin is pale and tans only slightly.
I did the search on this forum by the name of the city but found no results. That is why I created my own topic.
As far as I understand Candela GentleLASE is the best machine for me. Am I right or wrong?
I also visited Candela webcite and looked for a provider, visited all of them in Tampa Bay, compared the prices and chose one place. Is there any way for me to check the background of this clinic, its references, license information, etc?
Is there anybody from Tampa Bay on this forum?

There are others in Florida around. You can also call an expert in ST Augustine, Judy Adams and see if she knows somewhere closer to you (Google her clinic).

You can figure out if the clinic is good yourself by doing research on this forum. Ask them questions to which answers are in the FAQs. See what they say. Ask them questions which we provide in the sticky post specificaly to ask at your consultation. Ask them what settings they’re planning to use and post them here. That’s how you can judge how knowledgeable they are.

Thank you LAgirl!
All the clinics I have visited so far answer the questions from your FAQ very professionally. Maybe I am lucky:)
Just today I visited one place, they use only GentleYAG. This fact confused me. The NP is very knowledgeable, she answered all your questions, even gave me the references of the clients. But the fact that they use just YAG confuses me. Is it effective on type II skin? What type of laser is best for my skin type? Of course, she said that this is the best, but I have doubts. I have thought that GenteLASE is best for me so far. Now I am lost…
Please, clarify the this question for me

Well, these machines cost $50K+. So most clinics can only afford to carry one. That means if she bought a GentleLASE, she would have to turn down everyone with darker skin than a type III/IV. GentleYAG can safely treat all skin types since it’s made for darker skin. But that also means that it’s not as effective on light skin as a more poweful GentleLASE. Basically, in some effectiveness is taken away by using a Yag. For darker skin, there are no other options. But for lighter skin, there are more effective options like GentleLASE and other alex machines.

On coarse hair, there would probably not be much difference. The impact comes in when the hair gets finer with more treatments. Yags are worse on finer hair.

Thanks for the explanations!
