Interesting. I lean towards it not being healthy to take something in addition to whatever is natural. If one has to eat liver all day every day, maybe that amount of that vitamin is too much for the body. There is such thing as too much of whatever is generally “healthy”. It’s all about balance. Even “good” things are only good in moderation.
Is this good for acne too or not?
I think it would be. I get the occasional spot during the time of the month and this helps them disappear fast and scar less (no matter what kind of spot or pimple i have, they leave a brown scar).
Would it be possible to recommend your electrologist to join the forum? Lol. It would be good if they were here.
Okay I have a question.
I’ve never removed my hair on the upper lip, so you can imagine, if I went to get it all cleared at once people would be like Where did your hair go?
So is it possible for the electrologist to remove hairs here and there so it looks like it’s getting lighter and lighter and lighter each time I go until it is completely removed?
- I have mentioned it to her but she works 6 days a week and long hours. She doesn’t seem like someone who uses the internet very much from our discussions!
2)We don’t have amazing electrologists like James in the UK (or in London at least!), there is no way it would be cleared at once. It would be a gradual process. I started my upper lip late as I was wary of the same thing. I bleach but I didn’t want to appear patchy. But my electro really spread it out, so it’s going great. Right now I’m at the stage where all the (1) small hairs that didn’t take the bleach are gone (b) longer more obvious hairs are gone.
All the hairs that are left are easily bleachable, very short (1mm or less) and very fine.
Considering I’m not going for a completely hairless face, I’m considering just maintaining the clearance so far and leaving the rest as it’s already looking pretty good to me.
What do the pro’s think?
Thank you for your input.
I am reading more about the pits that occur from electrolysis. Do they clear out? Say on the upperlip, if they are common thenw hat can be used to avoid it or to treat it?
Some people call the revealing of the open space once the follicle if empty of the hair a “pit” and as the skin heals, this tightens up and is less noticable
some treatments result in some temporary alterations in the smooth terrain if the skin, and this evens out over time.
Now true pitting results in actual divits being missing from the skin, and as such, these don’t go away. This is why you hear electrologists recoil and scream “I don not cause pitting!” when anyone mentions pitting.
In most cases, for a competent electrolysis practitioner to actually cause an honest and for true pitting incident, she or he would have to abscent mindedly move from working on the left jawline, or chin and then try to treat a hair in the upper lip without remembering to change the treatment setting. That is not going to happen often, and even when it does, it won’t happen on more than one hair during one treatment appointment.
The other stuff will resolve in 3 months or less if one has enough vitamin C and other important nutritional constituents to keep the skin healthy.
Thank you.
stopitandtidyup, do you think your electrologist would do something like this?
Just need to find info.
I’m getting really annoyed about this hair. I’m gonna start actively going out to get it removed in a couple of weeks but I fear comments. I’ve never removed hair from my body and so if I get electrolysis done (slowly, a few hairs till all) then it will be really apparent. What am I to do? It will be awkward going out like that and I don’t want to hear any comments from people I know about it.
Sista, I know I keep labouring this point but I really don’t think you have anything to worry about. Skilled, experienced electrologists have worked with all sorts of ‘hair situations’ and requests.
When I was working on my sideburns, I had very specific requirements so that it wouldn’t look odd. I couldn’t go for completely hairless as my cheeks are full of downy growth as is the jawline below. Nor did I want them removed all the way to the top of the ear as that would look unnatural (on me). I just explained what I was aiming for and I got exactly that.
Now on my sideburn area from mid ear downwards, the hair growth looks exactly the same as on my cheeks.
I went for short appointments from last year April to December to achieve this, it was so gradual that no one noticed.
Same for my eyebrows and reduction on chin. For my upper lip, I didn’t even need to say anything to Sharon. She spreads out treatment anyway but I’m sure she also knows by now that I most likely don’t want total clearance so has worked with that in mind.
People notice something ‘different’ about the way I look as compared to last year (only people I haven’t seen in a long time) but no one can pin it down unless I tell them!
I think you need to decide if you want it all gone, in which case you will need to do a lot of work in the beginning to clear the hair. Or if you want a gradual reduction but this latter method it would be a loooooong process to be completely hairless (you might not even reach that point).

I guess totally hairless would look so unnatural considering I have hair on my face now. I probably have a few lighter hairs here and there which she could leave and take off the dark hairs but slowly. I hope this works out. Pray for me people please!
A woman’s face is loaded with hair and thankfully most of the hairs are too small, thin and blonde to be concerned with. THere is no way to get rid of ALL hairs on a woman’s face and WE electrologists don’t want to! By using good magnification, lighting and positioning techniques, we can see the hairs that are not wanted. If an electrologist does not have the ability or tools to see the hair, you will be frustrated. Take a mirror with you and point to hairs she missed if you have to. If she doesn’t like this kind of partenership in action, find someone who will work with you. Some of us encourage the client to participate and some don’t. I hope you find someone that will work with you.
Dee
Thank you. I don’t want all the hairs removed as the lighter ones make it look natural. I just want the ones that are dark or come out from the parts where I had acne.
Another question.
For those who have had acne, and where scarring etc. occured, after doing electrolysis, does the scarring becomes more visible or not because I realised that where the scarring is, my hair seems to be thicker or more noticebale or more hairs come out from there?
No, the acne scarring does not become worse when electrolysis is performed. A professional electrologist will not cause scarring! In fact, it is very difficult to scar someone. You’d have to be a dumb pig stuck in the mud on Valium type electrologist to scar someone.
Glad you are realistic about what hairs you want removed on your face. Just get those noticeable hairs and you’ll be fine in the long run.
What about the ‘pits’, it won’ deepen them will they?
Hello Dee,
I am reading this forum from a long time…It looks all people are very helpful here and are giving great advises.
Actually I have some confusion regarding electrolyis.I am a male and have some hairs on my cheeks and on the ear that I want to remove by electrolysis.First I was considerig to do laser but my skin type is not good for laser that is type IV.
Some of these hairs are dark and some are fine.
I did one consultation with an electrologist one week before.I am very afraid about the scars.
She took some hairs from ear and some hairs from cheek on one side of my face.
There are no redness I feel. But there was little swelling at one place on my face and got scabs on ear.
On the face where there was little sweeling here looks little dark now.
What you think what i should do…I should continue with her these are normal side effects…
I am very concerned if I get scars or hypepigmentation from electrolyis.
Thank you very much, I really need your help because my appointment is coming next monday.
Jimmy
NO! Acne pits have nothing to do with electrolysis pits. Pitting will not happen to you if electrolysis is performed by a skilled professional electrologist. You will have to seek treatment for your acne scars. Don’t confuse the two.
You are going to be fine, i’A!
If you go to Sharon, you are in good hands. Just spend a bit of time explaining your fears (about people noticing etc) and how you want to be treated and away you go!
Listen to Dee about the pits too… you really have nothing to worry about. If she uses blend, apart from some temporary redness, you shouldn’t have any other side effects (even temporary ones) as long as you keep everything clean and use your tea tree/witch hazel.
