Hello. I’ve read many of your posts and you seem to be extremely knowledgeable about the topic of laser hair removal. I have posted my story and you have added helpful feedback. I was wondering if it would be ok to ask you some specific questions like where a good laser place would be to go to in los angeles since I have been having no luck with laser hair removal? Don’t want to be a hassle, so please let me know if that is a problem, but I really need to talk to someone that knows exactly what they are talking about. Thanks!
I would need to know what laser type you need first. Most places I know have only one type of machine.

I have fairly light skin. Not ivory, but not medium. It’s somewhere in between. My hair is black. For the most part it is thick hair. There are areas where it isn’t as thick, but the hair is still thick enough where it can’t be described as peach fuzz and it is visible. I just want to find a place where they know what they’re doing so that I don’t have any more useless treatments. I’ve begun to think that there is no laser that is going to help me and I’m stuck with a mess. I went to american laser b/c it seemed like it would be a good place to go, and as can be imagined, I am greatly regretting that decision. I really am speaking from a point of desperation and I thank you so much for responding and willing to help.

i keep reading the q&a and I have more info I can share. Most of my treatments have been done with an IPL aurora laser. I have now come to learn that this may explain why my treatments have been so ineffective. I just began treatments using a lightsheer diode. In some parts of my body I had minimal shedding and some parts almost all the hair shed after my last set of treatments. In terms of success, I am doing full body and have only really seen results on my lower legs. please let me know if there is anything else you need to know in order to actually give me some advice. again, many many thanks!
last thing, on my last set of treatments, I was treated at a range from 20-25 joules, mainly at 20.
The best laser for you is alexandrite like GentleLASE. Dr Hamilton in Beverly Hills/Woodland Hills has been recommended on the forums recenty, and has this laser and decent prices.
LightSheer is a diode, and it’s ok on your skin type in good hands and at good settings (usually, over 25 joules and low pulse (under 50ms), and using compression. If you’re not seeing much shedding, settings are not great). However, you need to realize that laser really only works well on dark coarse hair, and adjust your expectations. Areas like bikini, underarms, and legs respond the best. For the other hair that you’re calling “noticeable”, you may be able to get a reduction of some sort, but don’t expect great results even with the best laser. Electrolysis needs to be done on the hair that’s finer.
Please outline each specific area you’re treating and type of hair on each.
