Type IV: Yag on underarms...Q on Pigmentation

I’m getting the Yag laser on my underarms next week. Right now that area is darker than my “normal” skin color. No matter how close I shave, it always looks like there’s tiny little black dots in there…not a good sight. :frowning:

I wondering once I have the laser done there, will the skin become more even and will the little dots go away?

Are these dots hair under the skin e.g. a shadow after shaving or are they pigmentation marks?

If a full course of laser treatments are performed, as long as they are effective, Laser kills the majority of the hairs and makes others finer, so thus can stop a shadow occurring after shaving. However, laser will not change the actual pigmentation of the skin.

Are you talking about a shadow basically caused by stubble? Inability to achieve a clean shave? Or is this pigmentation on the skin?

If these are hairs, then they will fall out after laser treatments, so the skin will be left smooth and hairless, similar to after waxing.
