Between sessions? I was supposed to go back two weeks ago for my under arms, but I got sick and couldn’t make it. I am going in tomorrow, but it will have been 10 weeks instead of eight since the last time I got zapped. Is this going to hurt my results?
No it won’t. Actually alot of professionals actually advise a gap of 8-10 weeks between treatments. I actually think its a good thing as now the hairs are little thicker at the base than they were 2 weeks ago so therefore more heat is absorbed into the follicle and a greater chance of KILL lol. Like i said nothing to worry about and good luck with your treatments.
i agree. nothing to worry about at all. 8-12 weeks is fine to start, and you can go up to 12-16 between treatments after 3 or so. you should just see how much hair grows back. everyone is different. if there isn’t enough hair and it’s not dark enough, no reason to go in early.
Perfect advice right here. I agree that the window is 8-12 weeks, even though alot of people try to get you in there at 4 or 6. If you go in after 4 weeks you aren’t going to have much hair on the surface to treat, and won’t have a true understanding of your results. There is ZERO correlation in the amount of hair you have at 4 weeks, and the amount of permanency you will have in the long run. There is always going to be hair your laser tech will miss, but you should be 90-95% hair free at 4 weeks even if laser ISN’T working. If you aren’t, there likely is missed spots.
The reasoning behind going at a certain interval is to treat the hair when it is in the Anagen or growing stage. From my own experience, I had a laser treatment about 17 weeks ago and I can tell you 90% of my hair is still in the anagen phase (I know this from removed hairs in electrolysis). That is probably a little atypically because I’ve sychronized my hair growth by going to so many laser treatments in a row, but it proves an example that if you want to wait a little while until hair starts popping up to see some of your progress, I don’t think theres anything wrong with that.
Everybody is different, but if you have the same amount of hair at 4 weeks as you do at six weeks, don’t go back until you see some regrowth AT LEAST…otherwise they will essentially be zapping more skin and less hair.
