I just had my 5th laser hair removal appointment and I was surprised by how little it hurt. There was also very little redness.
How can this be?
There were two things I did differently, maybe that was it. I shaved just a few hours (like 4) before my appointment. I took 2 midols instead of tylenol.
If it was one of these things that stopped the pain, then why aren’t they advertising it?
Since I didn’t have much of a reaction will the treatment work?
The tech was super fast. I think she covered all areas, but she didn’t overlap like I think they’ve done in the past. Also, she applied aloe as soon as she was done with an area - so maybe that was the trick.
It wasn’t pain free, it was just a lot less painful than my previous treatments (well not the ones that were only at 10 J).
Shaving the day of treatment???
The tech told me to shave 24 hours before, so there is a little bit of stubble. WHY? Wouldn’t that make it hurt more? Wouldn’t that waste energy on the longer hair? I don’t see any advantage of shaving 24 hours before the treatment.
