I’v done a little research concerning laser hair removal. What makes me confused is the MAJOR difference in price at different clinics in the LA area!
American Laser Center said they would give me a “deal” and charge me $2200 for a full bikini using their AmeriLight system.
Dr Reza Babapour would charge me $250 a session and said I would need 10 sessions =$2500.
Today I went to AesthetiCure Laser Center and they would only charge me $900 for a full bikini using their GentleLase system.
So now what?
Is the cheaper place also doing a worse job and their laser not working as good as the other two??
What is a typical price having a full bikini done? And what type of laser is the best?
Thankful for any respone and help!
What is your skin and hair type? Do you know what laser is best for you? If your skin is light and hair dark (I’m assuming since you went for GentleLASE consultations), you will not need 10 treatments most likely. I had my bikini done at Dr Babapour’s and only needed 6-7. Even after 4-5, you’ll have very little left so the price can be negotiated since the treatment will be very quick for just sparse areas.
Yes, prices vary a lot (everyone basically sets them randomnly based partly on their expenses and partly on their sales skills and what they think they can get from you). Skill varies a lot. So do machines. There is also a lot of misinformation out there and many people who don’t know what they’re doing. That’s why we recommend going to various places and judging many factors besides the price before picking a place.
I would definitely stay away from Amerilight IPL (not a true laser) and that chain clinic.
If you haven’t done so already, please read the FAQs first: www.hairremovalforum.com/faq.cfm. There is someone else on these forums (this and cosmetic enhancements one) who’s checking out clinics right now here in LA. You should share findings
Hi thanks for your resonse! You are the best!
Question…well since you went to Dr B - what kind of laser did he use on you?
I am very fair with dark hair…would u recommend him instead of Aestheticure?
Did Dr B charge you per session or for a package?
I was very disappointed with American Laser Center, it felt like the lady was trying to sell me a car - yikes!
You can read my entire experience at the link below my name “my treatments diary”. dr babapour has GentleLASE as well and doesn’t do packages. only per treatment. he accepts credit cards too. yes, everyone has the same experience with that chain. if you run a search here, you’ll find many counterparts. hehe I haven’t tried Aetheticure and haven’t had a consultation there. I called and talked to someone on the phone and they were somewhat rude and also a bit too salesy for me. I tried another doctor during my treatments as you will read in my experience thread, but got much better results with Dr Babapour, so I stuck with him. There are many other places around as the other person in LA found out as he’s doing his search right now ( check this link out: http://www.cosmeticenhancementsforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6522 ). He actually went to Aestheticure for a consult as well.
It also sounds like you didn’t do enough research yet to go to consultations. Please read the FAQs so you know what to ask. Alex laser like GentleLASE is best for your skin type. I am type II or so with dark hair.
