I just bought a used aplius SM-500 and the manuals and epilator is set up for french. I have emailed dectro but I am dying to fiddle with the machine. If you have english manuals for sale or at least know how to set the machines’ console for english, I would love to hear from you.
The sram card isnt the reason it’s set in french is it??

Ok me again, Dectro just emailed back with the manual. WOW that fast! I think I’m gonna like working with them 
Now to have fun and probably some frustration too.
As you PROBABLY know by now, you can select English or French in the Supervisor section. Problem being, if you can’t read French, it is a little strange doing the motions to get back to English, but you simply follow the English directions, while pushing the buttons, but ignoring the French words on the screen, and you are there, the machine becomes a secret Francophone!
You didn’t happen to receive the client management manual in PDF format by any chance? The machine originally came with two manuals, an operator’s manual and a client management manual (how to add/edit/delete clients and operators and set the fee rate etc.)
The languages are hard-coded in the machine’s firmware I believe. I erased the SRAM card and started over, and that did not change the languages or any of the original text.
Dectro is a great company to deal with, many pros and DIYers alike here have had the same experience with them.
Clients pay me well for professional information. I have a responsibility to them, however, I do not feel any responsibility to people I do not know and whose skin and hair I have not seen. No well trained electrologist or doctor will give you any info without seeing the patient.
Doctors have a secretary that screens calls and does not let you interrupt the doc in the middle of seeing patients. If we had such a service you would have to pay for it in the fee we charge as it is very expensive to hire anybody to make appointments because there is a minimum pay we have to shell out. It has nothing to do with the type and/or amount of work an employee does. That is the law.
Patients get much information from these web sites, however, it is amazing how many patients keep asking the same questions over and over. When I am asked if it is OK to buy a machine and treat themself… I find that ridiculous because you would not ask a doctor if you could buy a textbook on surgery and remove your own ingrown toenail or have a friend help you. We practice a simple procedure that requires skill following adequate training

Yes, I’ve been a electrologist for approx. a year now. I first bought a “perfectly working” CB-2 Fischer on ebay (only galvanic was functioning)when I started school. I finally had enough $ for a nice epilator YAY!
Dectro only gave me a pdf operator’s manual only. I still need the client management manual. She told me to contact the service department about it and about changing the machine to english (at least I think that is what she was trying to say).
I havent been able to find anything in the manual about changing the languages. I will say I am getting used to the french termanology from the francophone/epilator 
I will call them on my next day off and see what they say. I hope I dont have to ship it back to Montreal?!

Here’s how to change the language to English.

Turn on machine, enter access code (on back of S-RAM card); the machine will automatically go to the next screen after you enter the 4th digit of the access code.

You will be at the screen displaying the clinic name. Press the CONFIG (V) button. You will see the following in French:
NOM DELAIS DATE Vol X SAUVER
SALON AUTO HEURE Nb X PROG
While the screen above is displayed, press the LEFT ARROW key,
and then press the RIGHT ARROW key. (This is NOT obvious!)
The screen will then scroll to the right, displaying more configuration options, including the language option.

The screen below will be shown:
RESET TYPE FRA AUTO
MEM OPTIONS 560 SM523 ADJ TEST
Press the Chrono (D) button (right under FRA SM523) until FRA becomes ENG.
- Press Config to go back to the regular config screen, and now the language is set to English.
