Male back hair case. Large area, big man. Mixture of dark and gray hair. Very dense from neck / shoulders to belt line that continues into sides and then front. Wants all hair removed, not reduced. Stats are included at the end of the second post.
In 12 months:
( he skipped one month (December 2012) and then three more in the summer, so really he had 8 months of treatment and did not complain once about the process.

This is why I always say that cases like this are not easy, but with a plan and goal, electrolysis works. From month 12 to 18, we are basically refining the bunny tail and sides and picking up stray hairs in between. This was the largest case I have done. Most men are finished in half the time.
Out of curiosity, how was his pain tolerance through this? Were there any areas he found particularly more painful than others? I’ll be starting this area on myself shortly so I’m curious as to how he tolerated it
Looking at the guy, I’m guessing he was not all the flexible? I have had a few of these “brick buildings” and it’s a tougher deal. The more athletic clients make the job easier since they can move into a more workable position for you. Even a very very tiny change can make all the difference.
So Dee Dee, how many ADVIL did this job take? … he he he! I’m also glad my machine doesn’t count hairs … I might want to “off” myself knowing the number!
Ahhh, now the guy can officially join “The brotherhood of the hair.” (Hairless?)
Brenton, he needed no external on internal medication. He came in the raw and slept and snored through a lot of this. The neck was more stingy, but nothing that required medication or topical help. Yesterday, we did a general cleanup and 9,546 insertions were accomplished over 504 minutes (8.9 hours). If it was too ouchy, he wouldn’t have lasted that long! Some men do really well and some need to be pampered along. We are all different when it comes to sensation issues.
Mike, I usually suck up any discomfort I have, maybe an occasional Advil, but not much. What’s that saying? “If I died and went straight to Hell, it would take me a week to realize that I died.” Well, that applies to how I feel about some of these marathon cases. This man is an easy guy to work with and was always concerned for my comfort, moving to where he needed to be. I love challenging cases and I love that he is very happy not to have hair sticking out of his shirt collar anymore.
Wow, great job. I wish you could work on me. I want to say I’ve had maybe around 20+ hours done and it can’t even compare to just one hour’s worth that’s shown on here. Sigh.
PicoFlash thermolysis and Synchro thermolysis. Both types of thermolysis used less than a second timing to blast the hair follicle, so things moved quickly, something you want when you have this much hair over a large area.
Hi Dee, can these same results be achieved by traveling for Marathon Sessions at the same (ish) cost? I have the same growth, and would like to get to this point myself, however I am not close enough to do daily treatments? what sort of marathon schedule would you have set for this client’s hair condition?
I put a post about looking for an Atlanta area electrologist. Columbus is not too far from me and I got friends there. Dee,if I want to come over and do a marathon session in one trip(maybe 2-3 days). What would the max hours be that you would be able to allocate?
Same question for Michael Bono.
My back , shoulders, have similar amounts of hair. Not as hair in the lower back, but hairier in the upper. And my black hair may be a tad curlier and thicker.
I have an excellent former client from Atlanta (Dunwoody). Pretty sure he will give you the straight poop on his electrolysis experiences (went to several in your area … finished up with me). Use my private email for more information.
Please put in your strategy that one clearance will not do very much (see photos below). This client depicts the results from ONE clearance only (4 months later). So, you will need at least 3 clearances. (Sorry about the focus. The mark on the guy’s back is from a barbell.)
