Two months ago I had an electrolysis - long, 4 hour session.
Black pigmentation on the upper lip appeared 2 days later.
Now, it’s been 2 months and my skin is full of horrible pigmentation, pinholes and Orange-like scared skin. I am worried that pigmentation on the moustache won’t fade EVER. Many people here had the same problem.
What’s the worst - it completelly does NOT improve, even by a tony little bit.
Im crying every single day, even have suicidal thoughts…
You’re experiencing normal manifestations. None of it looks like scarring. Pigmentation changes take very long time to fade but it’s not permanent. Once you finish your electrolysis treatments, you can always speedup PIH fading with chemical peels. Watch the 4 part series on healing skin process during electrolysis and you’ll have better understanding of what’s happening.
I’m no expert, just a patient myself, but PLEASE don’t be suicidal at all! This is hyperpigmentation and it will totally fade! I had it bad all over my buttocks lol and it didn’t go away completely for literally a whole YEAR!!! But now I have completely even, perfect colored skin there. One thing that helps this is wearing sunscreen on your face. The sun makes hyperpigmentation worse and prevents it from lightening.
I get that it may suck to hear this might last so fricken long, but on the bright side IT IS NOT PERMANENT. Don’t worry about this at all.
However, I would ask the pros here if it’s possible to avoid such strong pigmentation with future treatments because you have to live with it for so long on your face after all and I can see how that would be upsetting.
