Hi! I have my consultation tomorrow morning for electrolysis on my chin and neck…I am freaking out! I never let anyone get close to my face in embarrassment of my facial hair. I have been shaving my chin for a few years now and i am so tired of feeling insecure. What should i ask tomorrow and what “red flags” should i be aware of? When i spoke with the lady on the phone, she says she uses all 3 methods of electrolysis and she uses APILUS CENTRE (not sure if i spelled that right) she said it was a computer based machine? is this right? Any help and info would be so appreciated and i will definitely keep you all updated on my progress. YIKES i am so nervous i am starting to sweat! lol
Don’t worry too much. Electrologists have seen all types of cases, and yours probably is not anywhere near their worst. They do this all day everyday.
This is a good machine that can do both blend and thermolysis/microflash. The latter is faster. You should get a sample treatment and see how your skin reacts and also make sure that the hair slides out without resistance after being zapped. Make sure to use aftercare - invest a few dollars in witch hazel to use for a few days after the treatment and avoid anything with chemicals in it.
thank you so much for the reply! She did mention doing a sample treatment, so hopefully all goes well! i will make sure to get witch hazel as well. Thanks for the advise!
For faster healing, you may also want to invest in some Tea Tree Oil to apply to the area at bed time, so it can speed healing overnight. It fights scabbing, and keeps one from forming white puss bumps.
She probably has an “Apilus Senior” (not “centre”) machine, which is a very nice machine that does flash and microflash thermo (I have a similar Apilus unit myself.)
