Dee or anyone really

You said something about the effects of electrolysis wouldn’t be known to the person until 1 year. I thought you should have an idea of making some improvements along the way. I just thought you could clarify your statement. I’m confused?

On a good note. I looked back at my time frame and I spent 3 hours on the table for 1st two months. The next two months were 2 hours each. This past month I was down to and hour and 45 minutes. It was hard for me to judge improvement b/c I was there every week, then 2, but last time I was 3 weeks between appts and still less time than the beginning! When I see that, I see some progress-otherwise it is “is it working?” So, that is why I also ask, do I really have to wait a year to see that it works???
Thanks as always!

You are correct. You can clearly see the difference by having to come in less and less often.

You will start seeing an improvement in the amount and structure of hair you have over the first six months. Amount of hair to remove will lesson and time on the table will decrease. You are already seeing this as described in your last paragraph. All this is very gradual. As James always says, take a before, middle and after picture to gauge your progress and I say, “Here! Here!” to that.

You would see instant progress if all the noticable hair you had was synchronized and grew altogether as one happy family at the same time, but alas, that is not to be.

After a year of carefully timed treatments and getting the area cleared everytime you have session, you will understand that you did the right thing for yourself. HOWEVER, you will see definite clues after six months that your hair problem is improving. Just getting cleared everytime gets you off the hook so you don’t have to do anything temporary on a daily basis. You may have to clip or shave once a week or every couple of days until your next electrolysis session, but that will soon become unneccesary as you reach the end. When you reach the end, you will know it because you will only be calling your electrologist to zap less than 10 hairs and your session will be about 10 minutes. Facial hair can pop up here and there over the rest of your life span, so you will need anywhwere from 1-4 quick sessions per year, if any, to get any NEW HAIR that catches the hair growth wave as you age.

When did you start? Are you confident that your elecrologist is performing well? Are you receiving thermolysis? In general, how are things going for you? I don’t have time to review all your posts about these specifics.

Thanks!

Dee

When we say you have to wait a year to see that it works, we are talking about the unrealistic idea people have where they want to have one treatment to “test this hair removal thing out.” Those people would not be able to see what was done without waiting a year. Those are the people who say, “I had one treatment and it all grew back in 6 weeks or less! I was ripped off!” It is to those people that we try to explain that one must either work on an area for a year, trusting that it is working, or one must take a before picture, then a post treatment picture, do no treatment for a year, ignoring all the other phases of hair growth that come about and take an after picture on the same day one year to the day of the one treatment.

Get it now?

Got it! Thanks! I am having microflash done, been going sincer early March (labia only after laser didn’t kill it). I think my electrologist is good as she has good vision, equipment, lighting, and I feel very little pulling. The hardest is that my hairs are SOOOOO blond and fine, that those are the ones that keep me on the table so long. The thicker hairs are coming back VERY thin also, so that compounds the problem. The darker hairs are definately disappearing, but the light are in abundance. I don’t need every last one gone, but when I pay and take the time for this LONG process, I start to expect perfection. And that is where I wonder if there is a difference. I will say that upon looking at my time tables, I feel much more positive about this process. I can’t wait to see what I will look like in just another month or two!!!

I feel positive for you, too. This is how electrolysis proceeds and produces permanent results no matter what area, not matter what color of skin and hair and no matter what size of hair. Be sure to hug your electrologist. She sounds like an expert at doing this well.
