She has been mentioned, but no response on her work? Anyone??? Arlene or anyone, she says laser does not stimulate growth, rather that when hair is eliminated on someone with a hormonal issue, the blood will go to another area and create hair there. Why has no one mentioned that in electrolysis. She is very pro laser and thinks the results are the same, except for the few strays needed by electrolysis at the end. Anyone?? She is EXPENSIVE! Laser full brazilian $370/treat electrol. $100/hr.
There is a VERY large difference between hair caused by hormonal action, and blood supply stimulation and what one grows when LASER stimulates growth all on its own.
Eliminating any question about what is the best form of hair removal, purely from a business stand point, it would be best for the hair removal practice if one did LASER first, and then finished with Electrolysis WITH THE SAME PRACTICE that did the LASER, as the amount of dollars per hour would be great for the business, and in the end, the person would be guaranteed to be hairless.
I hope someone who has experience with her will speak up, as it would be nice to help you with the question on the value of her work. I would not be scared off by the prices. Good work would be worth that. Remember, it is not dollars per hour, it is the end resulting condition of the skin and hairs per dollar that one should be thinking about.
I have had laser treatments but not with the person you are inquiring about. My experience with laser was both very positive and very negative. It worked wonders on my bikini and underarms (dark hair, fair skin). However, I also had it done on blonde facial hair and it has been a horrible experience. It stimulated growth and I have been having electrolysis to try and get rid of both the original hair as well as the new growth stimulated by laser.
I have a really bad problem… i have chest hair and im a female… i had electrol. done two times altogether like 3.5hrs and i had scabs on the area for about a week… now its kind of red… is this all normal?
the spots that were treated i can see some hair still growing although its been over 3 months i havent been tweezing… is this weird? does it mean its not working for me? i checked my hormones they are fine , thats what the doc said… so whats happening?
Electrolysis can remove all the hair, it’s a guarantee, so if you have high testosterone levels, or not. Is equally effective in women than in men. Men have higher testosterone levels. Is it possible that the new hairs that you have seen, are others hairs?
You would have needed to clear the area at least once every 6 weeks over 9 to 18 months to finish the area, since you did not do that, yes it is normal that you should see other hairs in that area. You should have healed up from your treatments if it has been months since your last one.
Get on a proper schedule and get cleared everytime you go in. PUT IN THE TIME UP FRONT TO GET CLEARED - then STAY CLEARED. You should not feel tweezing and you have to expect some temporary side effects, especially in the beginning. Small scabs and redness are okay for body work. Use your witch hazel, aloe vera gel and tea tree oil to speed up the healing process. Wear loose clothing.
THe best situation is to go to a person skilled at using a newer computerized epilator with the faster modes of thermolysis (MicroFlash, PicoFlash). Even though other modes under the title of electrolysis work great, better tools are awesome for you and the practitioner in so many ways.
A reply is not necessarily the ANSWER. Some replies are all wrong. It is difficult to extract the correct ones from the incorrect ones when you are relying on others… Many believe they are right but do not know they are not. This is just looking at the facts m’am, just the facts. Nobody would deliberately steer you wrong unless they have a vested interest in a competitive modality. Otherwise they are stating their OPINION and there are plenty of those.
Keep in mind that NEWER is not always better. There is a general thinking in our society that the newest models are superior to older models. This is PROMOTION IN ACTION. Manufacturers work very hard to get you to buy their products. The wording of the ads are effective in wooing customers. They tell you what you want to hear and it works (it works for laser machines too). The newest models of Epilady have proven that they are rarely any better (they still do not work) but the public believes the new model is supercharged. The DIET BUSINESS is a perfect example of this. If each new diet pushed by OPRAH is so wonderful, how come nothing works on her (and she has her own personal chef). Why are there so many NEW diets. Did you see the “cookie” diet yet? I saw an add in her magazine for CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES (full page ad). If that is all you eat you will lose weight because you are tired of it and quit.
Get several consults, Jade, and compare how it feels and heals. Make a list, go in with some questions, get a short treatment and then you will have an idea of who trust. Lastly, go home and treat yourself to some chocolate covered strawberries.
Electrolysis takes 9-12 months. It’s a not “2 treatment ordeal”. This is because your hair grows in cycles. And it takes that long for all the hair to cycle through. You need to go consistently for about 12 months in order to remove all the hair permanently. And you need to go on schedule, i.e. go in as soon as new hair shows up again so you can kill it while it’s weak and in the right phase of growth.
Scabbing can be normal on this area. Talk to the electrologist and they can adjust settings to make it better. Your skin will also adjust. Also, you need to use proper aftercare, i.e. witch hazel and tea tree oil to help skin heal and minimize side effects.
