I’ve had about 11 hours of treatment so far since June 2010 on the sides of my face, with some minutes each treatment on my chin and bellybutton.
I have a great electrologist, and treatments were going great. But since my college semester started back up in September, I started getting less treatments for financial reasons. Now since my job closed down it seems I might have to stop treatments all together.
Since I stopped having weekly sessions, hairs in all areas have gone back to normal. I feel like I’m back at the start.
I don’t know when I will be able to have regular sessions again. Does this mean that all of the time and money that I have already put in was wasted?
Since hair grows in cycles, you don’t notice now that the hairs that were treated have not grown back, as you have to wait until that time of year again to see the effectiveness. In short, the hairs you have in January are not the hairs you have in July.
What your sporadic appointments have done is to leave some hairs to cycle in and out without being treated, and others moved into shedding phase before you had them treated, thus limiting the effectiveness of the removal.
It is not a waste, as you still have a reduction in total hair, and any full clearances you have had are good for the week that you had it. You are just falling behind on the best case situation where you would have been finished in the shortest time possible.
No, it’s not wasted, but your hair is synchronized now, so once you restart, you’ll just bit a bit behind. It’s not a huge deal though.
Btw, you don’t need to go in weekly. You only need to go in once every 3 weeks or so. The important thing is to have a long enough session to clear the area. This is also a cheapear way to do it anyway.
If you can, save up money and go once every 3-4 weeks for one long treatment.
