Discount for more hours?

I was wondering if it is common for an electrologist to agree to a discounted price if one buys a certain amount of hours? Something like instead of $70 per hour, maybe $50 if I am buying 100 hours up front. I am going to require so many hours, I’m just getting a feel for the pricing.

My electrologist was able to do it. It really depends on each specific electrologist.

My electrologist is $90 per hour and offered me a deal of $75 per hour if I agreed to a preset numbers of hours. I don’t know if it’s common or rare, but there’s not harm in asking the electrologists you have consultations with.

Hi:

The only way to know for sure is to ask the individual you are dealing with.

I know it is cheaper for an hour long session than for four 15 minute sessions.

I’m also pretty sure that I am geting the best rate possible since I’m a long time customer, since I’m sure she would be charging new people more than I am paying right now.

I’m not sure how much of a discount some would be willing to give, but the actual example cited by MagicalPrincessKitty amounts to about 16 2/3 percent. Over a lot of hours that could add up, so that sounds like a pretty good deal.

Thanks all. Yeah the amount of hours I would be buying would be at least 100 a pop. So even at 50$ that’s still 5 grand.

I know, even with my discount to $75 it still was going to be tens of thousands of dollars at the rate I was going. Pretty depressing, huh? That your biggest investment in life won’t be your car or your wedding or even your house, but instead will be a series of medical treatments because you are so ugly that you have no choice but to try and fix it? I could cry.

Anyway, I decided to get student work done to minimize fees, and eventually just went ahead and invested in my own machine so I can do my own treatments from now on. I wasn’t going to be able to afford pro treatments much longer, unfortunately.

I have two different prices for my clients.

I understand that areas of the body such as legs, arms, back, chest, etc, need more investment, so for these areas the price is lower. I am not in favor of requiring the hiring of many hours to make a discount. The discount is automatic when you start one of these areas. The main motivation for a customer wants to remove the hair on your legs and arms is the guarantee of success offered by Electrolysis.

Dear princess, you can invest your money in a car that can suffer a blow and left for scrap, in a house that can catch fire, a jewel that can be stolen. But the money you invest in improving your quality of life and make you happier, is the best investment you’ll make in your life.
Too much hair does not make you’re ugly, it only prevents others see the beauty of your skin.

Yeah Princess, I feel ya. I know that for what I want done it will be more than $10,000. But,like most, it’s a financial sacrifice I am willing to make for my happiness.
There is a school in texas that offers a discount if a student works on you. I may do that for areas other than the full beard. I want a pro there.
I also may buy an Apilus Senior2 soon and do what I can on my own. May get the sister involved as well.
I came to Baghdad for a year just to fund my hair removal. That’s how serious I am about it. I worked hard to lose over 100 lbs to just be discouraged because I still wasn’t able to enjoy the new body because I was covered in fur.
But, once I get back to the states…after a couple of years I should be well on the way to a smoother life. (pun intended)
Thanks for all your imputs, J and to the professionals, you are offering people a great service

I think I heard the army can pay for some laser treatments if you complain of shaving rash etc since they require you to be clean shaven.

Hi:

Further to what Josefa was saying.:

Even though I don’t buy a block of hours from my electrologist, she knows I am a long term and steady customer who’s been getting a lot of work done, so she gives me her best hourly rate. I know I am getting a bargain right now compared to some rates I read about.

As far as the money spent on treatments over the years goes, that is all water under the bridge now since the rewards were more than worth it.

The costs are spread out though over time, unless one is buying 100 hours at a time, and it is manageable if you look at it in those terms. Some people spend a lot more on vices like ciggies than they would for something like this.

The reason most require an up-front pre-payment of a block of time to qualify for a discount is that without this, the practitioner is not assured that the number of billable hours actually realized will equal the amount required for the discount. In addition to this, without the pre-payment, one is still at the mercy of the missed appoitment, the no call, no show (strange how people get serious about scheduling when they have already paid) and people tend to try to schedule more time, closer together when they have pre-paid.

The discount is partially a promotional benefit to the hair remover, as the person who actually does lots of work in a short space of time will get finished faster, and will actually have results to show for it sooner, and will be a walking talking advertisement of their great services.

When that guy who shaves at 6am and looks like he needs a shave by noon comes to me and looses the constant dark shadow from his skin, you better believe people notice. Should the client say that he has seen me, and we did that in just one to 3 clearances spaced 6 weeks apart, people are impressed.

Finally, I think TempleJe can tell you that while the military gives lip service to paying for hair removal, getting them to put THEIR money where your hair is comes to frustration more often than fruition. That’s why people like TempleJe end up spending their own money.

This is very true. Right now we are having trouble getting the military to pay for our uniforms!
And as far as a hairfree face, I think that once someone is able to see what they can look like once finished, that would be a huge motivation. That’s one of the reasons I plan to sink so much up front. So I can see what I will look like once done, and with regular appointments, I’ll never have to be a wolfman even while I am getting the work done. So, It’s like I’m smooth even for the 2 years I am under the probe. SWEET
