Hi all, I have a bit of a random question. I have been getting electrolysis on my face for about a year now and been seeing wonderful clearance and reduction. I have noticed though that a lot of hairs that do still grow in and we are treating are white, peach fuzz almost like hairs (Vellus?). There’s still some dark coarse hairs that pop up too and we just treat it all and push on as the goal is 100% permanence but my question is, those light white hairs, would those remain like that permanently if dark coarse hairs are not popping up in those areas?
Does electrolysis (We are utilizing Thermolysis modality rn and will use galvanic blend later once our full face clear times are 30 minutes. Currently takes 1 hr to full clear) permanently damage the hair follicle if it doesn’t outright kill it permanently? For example, the hairs we have treated multiple times now… Will they ever grow back to the intense coarseness and density that I had before (For context I am male to female transitioning so I had a full beard lol)? I know that that seems to happen with laser as I had laser for over a year on my face and was still struggling with dark coarse hairs and density problems. Nothing seemed to get better until switching over to electrolysis.
I just want to know if this is the case as, I will be working on bottom surgery electrolysis prep soon and I am planning on having a solid 1.5 to 2 years to focus on fully clearing everything down there but I was thinking, in the unfortunate case that a few stray hairs don’t get 100% killed, I have heard that having a few vellus hairs inside post op generally do not cause complications or even be noticed. I just want to know if electrolysis is the best bet and I believe it to be, whether we 100% clear or end up with very very few stragglers, hopefully said stragglers would be permanently damaged so much that they are teensy tiny little peach fuzz hairs?
