electrologist in san diego

can anyone recommend an electrologist in san diego? thank you

I am trying to find one in san diego too. Online I found someone named Joyce. She is a CPE and a member of the american electrology association. I found 8 reviews on her through google and they where all good.

I found others electrologists just by typing electrolysis and looking at who came up in my area. You can also check out the site for american electrology association - Electrolysis permanent hair removal | American Electrology Association.

I would recommend going to a few for consultations. I’m hoping to see a couple these next couple weeks. I can let you know how they go. If you find a good electrologist I would appreciate you letting me know too.

I’m not sure if you found an electrologist, but I saw this posting. I highly recommend Elise Wisehart in Hillcrest. You can find reviews on Yelp.

Hello,

It’s been awhile. I mentioned I was going to see electrologists within a couple weeks of my last post but I finally just went to an electrologist in SD for the first time last week. She is Rochelle Freeman and works at New Image Electrolysis Center in Kearny Mesa. She is very friendly and professional. I felt very comfortable talking to her about my hair problem. She did a 15 minute treatment. It was painful, but I was easily able to tolerate it very well. I’m pretty sure I’ll have no problem going for an hour.
In terms of her skills as an electrologist I can’t really say because I haven’t gone anywhere else and thus have no one else to compare to. Also, after just one 15 treatment I’m not expecting to see a decrease in hair growth so I don’t really know how efficient she is. However, I can say that post-treatment I reacted very well. I did have a normal amount of redness and irritation, which she said should go away after an hour, but it actually went away quicker than that!
She also mentioned she’s been working as an electrologist for 20 or 25 years.
The one thing that may be a problem is that she is semi-retired, so it may be hard to make appointments that agree with your schedule as she only works twice a week. The other thing that turned me off a little is that she wanted to schedule the next appointment with me without even going over the price list, as if money wasn’t a concern for me. It turns out her prices are standard to the area (at least from what I’ve seen).

One way to tell a good treatment is that you don’t feel the hair being plucked. It should be sliding out without resistance after being zapped.

You don’t need to go in every week for treatments. If you’re getting full clearances each time, going once every 3-4 weeks is fine.

I did not feel any plucking. Thank you, that makes me feel better to know that.

Also wanted to add she called me a couple days later to check up on me, which I thought was also really nice.

what method is being used?

wow I saw Rochelle in the early 90’s, she was very good.

Have you been stable for all this time?

LAgirl - blend i think… I’ll have to ask her next time I go in

dfahey - What do you mean by stable?

So I mentioned earlier I don’t feel the hair being plucked, and this is true except when she does my upper lip. I mentioned this to her and she said it was because she needs to turn the strength down a lot when she does the upper lip, as it is extremely sensitive. Again the rest of my face (sides, chin, under chin), which is the focus of the treatments feels absolutely no pulling. Is this ok?

I’ve been having second thoughts about her…I still believe she is good, but I don’t feel she really cares about getting rid of my hair efficiently. Almost every treatment, she finishes early and yet there are still lots of left over patches. She does get all the thick hairs, it’s the fine hairs that she leaves a lot behind. I also remember one time the timer started and she was prepping her needles. Is this standard or do you start the timer right before actual treatment? I don’t know how many times she’s done this as I don’t always look at the timer, thought if I continue to see her I will try to be more observant.
I am planning on bringing this up next time, but I’m debating on if it’s better to just try another electrologist. Any thoughts?

Thanks

eyebrows - yes
neck / back - hell no ! but it is mostly new hair follicles.

Overall I found electrolysis very effective, but more painful than LHR.

I have light skin and dark hair though…
