I find the pain almost unbearable when having electrolysis under the nose. I have seen advertisements on television for TENS machines that are quite inexpensive.
Has anyone used a TENS machine in conjunction with electrolysis to manage pain better?
I would be grateful for any advice or information regarding.
Yes, EMLA left on the middle upper lip for about an hour will most likely give you welcomed relief. I have never had a client come to me with a TENS unit strapped to their body because there are other things that are more appropriate to start with if need be.
A TENS unit is a nifty little device and it would be very interesting if someone tried it for electrolysis. If it can help those with cancer, surgery, phatom limb and back pain, then why not electrolysis, for certain sensitive areas?
Trouble is, a TENS unit cannnot be used for anyone with convulsions or blood vessel problems in the head and neck area. It can’t be used for a person with pacemaker either. It sure beats having to take oral pain medication and, it causes those endorphins (natural pain killers from the brain) to be released.
If anyone has used a TENS unit in conjunction with electrolysis
please come forward and share.
As a physical therapy technician, I use TENS dozens of times a day on my patients. I would not recomend using them on the face unless its for the TMJ area.
