I have kind of a weird problem. Too much electrolysis and plucking has left me with barely any eyebrows; what IS left is very coarse, wiry, and long (the reason I started having electrolysis in the first place.) Right now, I have to pencil in all the gaps and sparse areas, AND trim the long hairs. So, I am having the rest of the hair removed via electrolysis, and will follow it with permanent cosmetics. My question is, if I have to go in for touch-ups in the area with electrolysis, will I damage my tattooed on brows? My electrolgist says no, but the permanent make-up lady says maybe. We’re not talking about major hair stripping here, but just a few leftover ones. Thing is, I don’t want to have a long period of no hair where I have to draw in my brows at all times, lest I not have any.
I have often been called upon to remove hairs from the tattoed area for the purpose of making the artwork more attractive, and clean looking. There have never been any problems.
One gentleman had a beautiful woman tatooed on his leg, but his leg hair was so long and plentiful that she looked like a wolf-woman if he did not keep her area shaved, but then he looked strange with a shaved box on his leg. I removed the hair in the tatoo, and nowhere else, so it actually looks like a bare skinned woman just hanging out on his leg. The was no loss in color, nor skin distress.
I can’t say that everyone would have the same results no matter who they saw, or who they are, but I personally have had no problems.
Permanent makeup, or micropigmentation, tends to fade anyway on the eyebrows with one side fading more than the other (no-one knows why exactly). Why not just get the micropigmentation done and see how the result looks with the remaining hairs? It won’t be the same as drawing them on, so the look will be more natural anyway.
I just might. Now, they do eyebrows with “hair strokes” so it looks natural and not a dark, solid line like previously. I’ll let everyone know what happens.
The left side would fade more than the right in just the same way people have more hair on the left side of the face than on the right. It is because there is more oxygen in the blood on the side of the heart.
I was unaware that the process you spoke of was any different than plain tatooing. It may be that I have never encountered working on any areas that have had that treatment, or that type of pigment used.
This is good to hear! I’ve always wanted to get a few tattoos, but I have been relying on laser to clear my hair temporarily so I have been unable to do so. My first actual treatment of electrolysis is tomorrow, and if this ends up working in the long run I’m gonna get some ink. Good info James

I think the pigments are the same. I think I am going to get the permanent cosmetics done, and then do my electrolysis touch-ups anyway. If it fades the color, I will just get it touched up. Better that than going eyebrow-less for 6 months or something. My other tattoos haven’t faded at all, but then again I haven’t had electrolysis on them.
