okay so yesterday i had my FIRST 10 minute appointment.

I’m starting with my upper lip, so I was pretty nervous going into it because ive heard thats one of the most painful places. I applied emla before I left so by the time I got there I would be nice and numb… Uhm, mistake. I didnt use plastic! so it evaporated by the time i was there! luckily I got there 20 mins early, and when I walked in she escorted me to the couch and showed me how to apply it correct… keeping things completey sanitary (hand sanitizer overload!) and comfortable. I waited with it on for 20 minutes and by the time she took it off i was finally numb! (well somewhat!)

She talked me through the whole process and let me even watch her do it with a mirror. it was really awesome to watch, by the way. seeing her take out those hairs; and i was AMAZED how they just slid out, no pulled or plucking AT ALL. and man was she fast! She was very focused, but still gave me all the attention and info i needed. She even told me in the beginning she could tell i have very sensitive skin and if she felt i was going to have a bad reaction she would stop in the middle. so it made me feel a lot more comfortable knowing that she was paying attention to my skin in that way.

and the pain? pssshhh not that bad!!! not even right below my nose in the middle part. Sure, it hurt but i wasnt in PAIN. it reminded me of the last part of a deep pore cleansing facials where they empty your pores… it felt kinda hot but was more uncomfortable than painful.

then she gave me a little frozen water balloon in a baggy and told me to move it around my upper lip for as long as i felt necessary… i did it the whole way home.

when i got home from her office (30 minute drive) the redness had drastically reduced and after 3 hours it was almost not even visible! and today there is a tiny bit of pink but its barely noticeable!

it was such a smooth, great experience im really looking forward to seeing her again and again and again!

Yesterday I had my second treatment on my upper lip. It actually went better than my first time. The redness was almost gone within a few hours. And last week it took quite a bit longer and was a bit red/blotchy for a few days (not too noticeable, but noticeable to me.) no scabs/breakout. and last time my skin got pretty dry for a couple days and that didnt happen this time either.

the only thing is that it hurt quite a bit more this time than last. but i think that is because she had more hair to get, and focused more on the center part of my upper lip than last time. and even though it was more painful…its worth it! its like that good pain you get when going to the gym! bring it on!
again, she did 10 minutes, but next week i think im going to ask her to do 15 to get more hairs than just the darker ones.

im starting to think about how i want to address getting the rest of my face started. I really want to start my side burns… (the hair is pretty fine, but there is ALOT of it, and longer than most other girl hair; story of my life!). but i also want to do EVERYTHING else! i was thinking… is it best to just do a couple places at once like upper lip, sideburns and chin and then LATER start the otherplaces like lower lip, cheeks and eyebrows? or should i do all at once?

any advice with this decision? because i want to do it as fast as i can, and it would be great to kill two birds (well multiple birds!) with one stone… but i dont know if thats the best idea?

please shed some light on this!
