I am looking into electrolysis to remove unwanted hair from the cheek area. After having laser hair removal that killed the fuzz i had on the sides of the face I was left with some darker and thicker hairs in certain area. From reading other posts from users I realize that this is a common and recurring problem with laser users on the face. Of course I am devastated and looking for a solution which I believe is electrolysis.
My main question is whether people have had success with electrolysis on the cheeks and overall how the process will work. Will the area be cleared each time or is it a progressive system? I am also concerned about scarring or marks that might be left behind. Is this common?
This is a great community and I really appreciate everyone’s answers and posts. Have a wonderful day.
The electrolysis always works in any area of the body or face.
“Will the area be cleared each time or is it a progressive system?”
This depends on the number of hairs you have on the day of the session and the strategy that your electrologist think that’s right for you. Overall, if you have little hair, he or she should be able to delete all at each session. Ask to do a little test to see how it progresses your skin. This will also determine the effectiveness of treatment you are receiving.
So, laser killed the fuzz on your face? By fuzz, do mean fine hair? If that is what you mean, then a true miracle happened for you.
Electrolysis can help you with your cheek hair and more, no matter how thick or thin . The color of your hair and the color of your skin matters NONE. The skill of your electrologist does matter. You will have some temporary skin reaction that should disappear within hours? to days? These temporary skin reactions are not the same as scarring, so don’t freak out. Discuss everything that is on your mind with your electrologist. Clearance may be possible, but none of us can answer your question with certainty because we can’t see you. Besides that, we are all different in our approach. We all have different vision aid, epilator choices and speed abilities.
Thank you so much for your response ladies By fuzz i do mean the very fine hairs that I previously had. They were a little darker since I am a brunette but they were not thick. The hairs that have re-grown in the are are now thicker and darker (more likely a prickly hair that would grow on your leg than a fine hair that usually grows on the face). I have a list of practitioners in the area and am planning on making some appointments tomorrow.
The hair does not cover my entire cheeks. On the right side there are very few hairs in random places. The left side is much worse but still I would say maybe 1/5 or 1/6 of the cheek area. They are scattered and then in some places closer together.
I really hope this works and am excited to start getting rid of this problem.
