Electrolysis to soften transplanted hairline

Hi all,
32M here. At 28 I had a relatively small transplant: 1,660 grafts to the hairline deep temples (not the full first third, more of a “horn”/horse shoe pattern).

The first two years looked good. I couldn’t tolerate finasteride (side effects), tried dutasteride (also issues), and stuck with minoxidil, which helped for a while. Over the last two years my loss accelerated a lot, and I’m now around Norwood 4.

I’m trying to choose an exit strategy. I’m leaning toward buzzing/shaving bald, but the transplanted “horns” in front are dark/dense and don’t blend.

I actually like the overall hairline shape and don’t want to remove everything ideally I’d thin/soften it so a short buzz looks natural.

(I’m not interested in SMP).

Questions:

Has anyone experience a case of partial electrolysis (or laser) specifically to thin/soften a transplanted hairline/temples, not full removal?
How were healing, scarring, or pigmentation?

  • Is selective thinning realistic, or does it tend to look patchy?
  • For a natural look with a #0.5–#1 buzz, is there a target density people aim for at the hairline?
  • If you tried laser on dark coarse hair with light skin, did it simply reduce caliber/density or did it create odd patterns?

Thanks!

Anyone?
