I’ve been reading this forum for about 2 years and I finally mustered up the strength to register, call an electrologist and get the show on the road. Woo-hoo!
I feel like a huge weight is slowly lifting from my shoulders and I’m sure it will feel a whole lot lighter once I’m further along.
My big concern is the logistics of getting this done on my face. I have been shaving my face and neck (which now have quite dark and thick hairs around my chin/jawline) every single morning, and sometimes 2x/day for about 15 years (I’m 32 now). My 1st appt. is on Sunday AM, so I plan on shaving on Friday night and hiding in my house all day Saturday/Sunday AM so no one sees me.
Will 36 hours of growth be enough? How long do the hairs need to be in order to get electrolysis? Is a 5 o’clock shadow zap-able?
Have any women on here gone thru marathon clearing sessions with Sabrena Smith or at E3000? I want to get my first clearing DONE so I don’t have to grown it out every time I go in for work. It’s mortifying. I live in L.A., but I’d be willing to travel just about anywhere for good, fast work.
Any suggestions?
P.S., I have had many, many blood workups and tests for PCOS and everything has come up normal. Dermatologists, Endocrinologists, and GYNs all say my follicles are “just sensitive”.
They are right about that. You are a hormonally vulnerable women most likely.
If the electrologist has good surgical magnification , she will definitely be able to see your hair follicles by Sunday Am. Ask her what she thinks would be best. On some of my clients, they shave in the morning and by 5 or 6pm, I can work on them, others need 24 hours to 72 hours.
Marathon sessions are much better, but the electrologist must have the right equipment to do this safely and I think Sabrina Smith qualifies from what lagirl has reported in the past. The electrologist needs stamina as well.
I would have to agree.
Two to three days worth of growth is usually plenty of time to allow a full clearance, assuming you have enough time to work with and enough stamina in both client and practitioner.
I did a lady last week who was just starting. (her LASER consult resulted in a referral to me, as her hair is blonde) She had about the same amount of hair as a 17 year old boy, and we needed 6 hours to get it clear, but she went home with a face she could hold high in public. Once that point is reached, one need only keep on top of the mainenance, and all will be well.
You can have the hairs removed before other people begin to notice them, even with no more shaving. YOU might notice them, because you are the one looking in the 10x’s magnification mirror, and rubbing your face all the time, but no one else will notice.
