I have my first appointment tomorrow, and I have not shaved or done anything since Saturday. OMG I don’t know if I can handle it. When I look at my chin all I can see is HAIR. I just started a new job last week and I’m afraid all that anyone is seeing when they look at me is HAIR! How did you guys cope with this? I plan on asking my electrologist if she can do with a little shorter growth, because I don’t know if I can emotionally cope with this every week.
Hi:
Yes, you should talk it over with them and get their opinion on whether you could get away with one day less growth or whatever.
Sometimes we get pretty self conscious about facial hair to the point of noticing what others might not, so bear that in mind.
Eventually you will have a lot less coming back in to worry about.
Good luck!
Thank you ALicia. I will try to keep a positive attitude!
This is the hardest part, and in some cases of long term tweezing, for the first week or two,I sometimes treat twice or occasionally three times a week. It depends on the clients tolerance to hair, amount of hair, and their skins ability to recover quickly. Your practitioner will be mindful of your concerns ,and will do her best, to make this as stress free as possible for you. After a week or two, the coarsest and thickest hairs will be removed, and your skin will feel smoother. At this stage, you will begin to worry less. Perhaps it would be good to read others experiences here, especially about their first few treatments. More good luck!
Thank you Christine! I do feel better about it already. She is very mindful of my concern and is planning to zap the most visible hairs (on the front of my chin) first. The ones underneath my chin are embarrassing but not as bad. So hopefully after tomorrow it will be a good improvement and then I can shave the leftovers until 2 days before my next appointment. She did say that for me, almost all my hair is currently in anagen (because I was plucking for so long), and 2 days is enough for her.
