I was wondering if you have to have hair present in order to do electrolysis? If so, how long does the hair have to be?
Thanks!
ex: upper lip…if u wax do you have to wait until the hair grows back before doing electrolysis?

yes, hair needs to be present and visible enough for the electrologist to insert the probe into the follicle and zap. Usually 4-5 days of growth is fine (after shaving). also, you can’t wax once you start treatments. you can only shave and clip, otherwise the treatments will be a waste. the hair needs to be in the follicle and actively growing in order to destroy it. However, you will be clear most of the time as you should be coming in to zap and remove hairs as soon as they appear while they’re still weak.
Yes, it needs to be long enough for the electrologist to see it, and grab it with the tweezers to slide it out after it’s been zapped. Quality magnification from the electrologist means that the hairs don’t have to be too long.
You shouldn’t wax/tweeze while doing electrolysis, as lagirl said.
