I had 15 hours of electrolysis in total so far. Mostly on the shoulders and upperback part(I’m a male).
I started electrolysis, because I wasn’t very happy with the laser hair removal results - had a atleast 10 treatments per area and saw at most about 30-40% reduction. was treated via lhr not shr or ipl, candela and some other machine less known.
Anyway, I had about 2 hours of tretaments every month for about 8 month. After ecery treatment my skin was very red for atleast 3days. And after this the redness turned into little wound some were like pustules(folliculities) the electrolysis said it’s torally alright, and I kept taking care of it - benzoyl peroxide and moistruizers.
Now I started spotting on the healed area(areas that haven’t been treated for atleast 2 months) some white looking dots some were big, but most were relatively small. now they aren’t exactly hypopigmentation, they’re a little elevated on the skin, but they aren’t keiloids either.
I came and asked my electrolysis about them, and she said it’ll pass and it’s totally fine. I wasn’t very convinced and I stopped the treatment after they didn’t pass for a few more months. I spoke to her again, and she said it is a skin tendency or some bs. I never had issues post lhr, even after being treated with very high power. I do have some similar looking dots on area that weren’t treated. Where I had relatively severe acne, but it’s far less common. Unfortunatley my phone is relatively old and it can’t really catch those, so I’mma add a photo I can find that look pretty similar.
Now I got 2 questions:
- After this issue started I tried a different electrolgist. She made a patch test on the arm. It isn’t the same area that have been treated like the shoulders. So far the healing process there seem very clean - it was red for a while, but no pustules or folliculitiea. Very little wounds during the healing process and so far zero white spots. Now I know not all areas are the same, so I’m looking for some experience here. Would it be safe to keep treating the shoulders with this electrologist?
- Is there a way to treat those white things?
It looks like this, but far less worse.
