is infection common becasue of electrolysis? what causes it? and what can be done to prevent it? will doing the whole face rather than just small area like the upper lip or chin tend to cause more infection? does it depend on the electrolygist?
has anyone dealt with infections casued by electrolysis?
Thankx
Infection is NOT common after electrolysis treatments.
When it does occur, it is often because the client fails to follow the electrologists recommended after care. Prevention in this case would be to follow the recommended and simple after care recommendations. (keeping skin clean, not touching it, avoiding sweating or getting dirty, etc.)
Electrologists should follow the Infection Control Standards found at http://electrology.com/pdf/infection_control.pdf.
Consumers should also be savvy about selecting their electrologist.
Occasionally, a spot might become a pimple. That is as extreme as should ever occur and it should rarely occur. Anything more would mean a red flag, and the electrologist should be notified and the electrologist should ask the client to come in immediately.
Wishing you great treatments!
