Injury/surgery stimulates hair growth??

I read somewhere that having facial surgery can stimulate the hair follicles. Has anyone else heard this.

Anything that increases the blood flow to the skin may possibly increase the thickness and number of hairs in an area. This is why people who have limbs in casts frequently report darker and thicker or even increased hairs in the area of the cast. The constant friction of the cast against the skin causes constant increased blood flow to the skin for the duration of the cast being in place. Hair is to blood as fertilizer is to grass.

I have one instance of proof!

A client of mine was in a pretty bad motorcycle accident. She ended up being thrown over the driver (and the deer) and skidding down the blacktop on her forehead, one shin and both hands. (This with a helmet on! …and just imagine that body position!) A little plastic surgery has restored her face to it’s perfect beautiful self - no visible signs. Her shin then grew an abundant amount of hair! She waited about 6 months, hoping it would fall out, but it didn’t so she had electrolysis!

A small percentage of clients who have microdermabrasion treatments tell me that they see increased hair growth.
