I just got my legs lasered on tuseday, and I was not expecting it to be that painfull,I never had problem with the pain, considering i’m getting my armspits done as well, and i can tolerate t pretty well. So what is a good medication to take before my laser appointment, and also my next one is in 5 weeks, is that too long or just in time for the new hair to come out on my legs?and if not what is good time between laser hair removal for the female legs.
I am considering getting this done on mine (legs and armpits) later this year so I am all ears.
i had my lower legs done yesterday for the first time actually too. I took an Ibuprofen about an 40 mins beforehand. It hurt, but it wasn’t as bad as the bikini area where the hair is more coarse and dense. Icing afterwards helps a lot. What laser was used on you? Settings? I had it with GentleLASE at 14 joules and 18mm this time to start since they’re a bit tanned now. Redness went away within a few hours and they look fine now. Just some little redness around the follicles.
5 weeks is WAY to early for this area especially. Leg treatments should be 12-16 weeks apart.
Niki, I had my underarms done already a year ago. As well as bikini. You can read my story below my name.
I have had about 8 treatments on my legs, and must admit. It hurt sometimes more then others. Especially near that time of month. Though now as the hairs are dying off it does not feel so bad.
How is everyones results so far? After 8 times, I have sparse hair on the lower part, but my thighs still seem pretty hairy.
what type of skin and hair do you have? what machine was used?
how far apart should the appointments be? i was treated by lasercope at 60J
If you have a lot of hair, then there should be some pain because the laser is zapping the follicles – damaging them.
As far as the interval between treatments, I think that 5 weeks is too soon. To get the most out of your treatments, I think you should wait 8-10 weeks between.
legs have longer hair cycles. 10-16 weeks is best.
I really do want to get the best out of every treatment, I want every single one to be effective, My other question is what about armpits and stomach I’ve been going in for about a year for those areas every 6 weeks? I’m guessing thats also too soon, so what is good time interval for those areas, I should also add that I have lots of hair on those areas as well, I’m not going in just for a couple hair, espically my stomach.

I’ve had 6 treatments on me legs (well 6 on thighs and 5 on lower legs with one touch up). The thighs are still somewhat hairy but much, much thinner which satisfies me greatly, and the lower legs just have a several sparse hairs. I can at least shaved without cuts and ingrowns, and there are no more pepper spots (seeing the hair under the skin after i shave). I’m getting two more treatments, and then I’m done no matter how much hair is left. 8 treatments would be enough for me, and I want to enjoy myself this summer!
yes, 6 weeks is way too soon for those areas. 6 weeks is too soon for all areas except maybe the face. have you read the FAQs? this is all explained there. 8-12 weeks is MINIMUM for all areas, and you can wait more like 12-16 weeks on most areas after 3-4 treatments. If you’ve been going for a year, you should not have that much to treat at this point, especially every 6 weeks. Are you seeing all hair shed after each treatment? It sounds like you’re not having the most effective treatments right now.
i’m starting to think maybe thats why my treatments haven’t been effective, at one point i was going in every 4 weeks, i’m gonna call and reschedual it for 10 weeks instead.
going that often basically means that you’re retreating the same hair. meaning if you had 2 treatments within 8 weeks, it is basically as if you’ve had only one treatment as the hair in the next growth phase haven’t surfaced yet. also, i would think it’s hard to tell if there is shedding. is there? you shouldn’t have anything to treat at 4-6 weeks if the treatment was effective.
I always have shedding 11 days after my treatment( stomach, and armpits), and its been about 11 days since my first treatment on my legs and still no sheddings…I’m pretty sure my treatment was effective, it was painfull…so i don’t know whats going on.
are the hairs growing though? I just got my legs done and there are a bunch of pepperspots, but nothing is growing, while on bikini and underarms, the hairs actually shed. it depends on the area. on legs, the hairs don’t come out as easily right away especially since there are finer than other areas. it can take a bit longer for pepperspots to come out. they’re little black dots from dead hairs stuck in the follicles.
the hair my legs are growind still and i’ve been shaving i dont see any signs of shedding or pepperspots.
sounds like you were undertreated, but i would give it full 3 weeks before concluding.
I will wait another week, and If i was undertreated should I wait 8 weeks before going in for another treatments or should I go in right away??
you can go in 4 weeks after as you can show them that nothing happened. they shouldn’t count it as a treatment in my opinion either. what machine are they using? you should get an idea of what settings they used and what they SHOULD use before you go back. I would call and ask these details if you’r enot sure.
