long session coming up..

Hey guys! So I’m booking a long session for chest area (including breasts) upper arms, and bum =$ I’m doing 16 hrs split into 2.5 days. I know this seems long, but I need this done!

I was wondering if you pros out there think this is enough time for these areas. I am a female and I have dark hair everywhere! not coarse but very noticeable, almost like long fine hairs.
I want to clear as many areas as possible so I can move into maintaining them instead of going weekly forever!!

What do you all think? Feedback? Tips?

This is impossible to answer with any degree of honesty. How much hair do you have? How much surface area do you have? Modality being used? How speedy is the electrologist ?

You’re off to a good start investing 16.5 hours.

Well I think I’m hairy, but my hair isn’t dense, so theres lots of it, but spaced apart (if that makes sense) I just want the noticeable ones (the ones people can see) gone! So I’m hoping this is enough time!
I booked before with the same lady and shes good so I have no worries.

I was looking into booking with Fino Gior? I researched his work. However, on his website theres approximate hours given to certain areas, which confused me. Does anyone know if those hours are total time needed or just for first clearance?

I’m excited for this to happen!

These are total times to finish an area. Very ambitious numbers, but I have heard many say that the guy could go-go!

A good plan if you can find someone who can do this kind of work.

The time to clear an area depends on the density of your hair and the speed of the electrologist. Not to mention the amount of time the electrologist feels he/she can safely work in one area.

The total treatment times do seem ambitious but it doesn’t mean that there are not electrologists out there who can do this.

Mr Bono often says underarms take about 6 hours to complete (all clearances). So I assume the rest is similar.

In my own experience, my sister’s upper lip has so far taken a total of 4 hours (2 x 2hrs) and just needs a finishing 15mins (or less) for the last clearance. She had an incredibly dense upper lip. One sideburn has so far taken 2 hours TTT and needs about 5 mins work to finish it.

This thread my help with what to expect when one does a lot of work in one area. I am linking to the before/after but it is worth reading from the start:

Thanks for the replies. I’ve never done this much work for the body and I’m a bit nervous. I have done only fingers and toes, and both left me with hyperpigmentation marks that look like they’ll be here forever. So I’m a bit skeptical and hopeful that this will not happen again on the areas I am beginning.

Is there reasons why hyperpigmentation occurs on the body, cause I never got it on the face. Then again, the electrologist I went to was aggressive with her treatment, I could tell afterwards as the scabs I had were abnormal and lasted almost a month!! I had to keep putting tea tree oil everyday for them to fall off, it was a disaster! and now I’m left with the hair and marks that where the hair was, so if it wasn’t bad enough having the hair, people can notice it more with the marks!! ugh!!

I know electrolysis works, but I don’t want to have to go through having marks and no hair, its something that doesn’t make sense.

I have an olive skin tone so I guess I’m more prone, but is there something I could ask the electrologist to do in order to reduce any side effects?

One of the electrologist’s can answer your why question,

But scabbing and pigmentation is ‘normal’ on the body.

See my sister’s diary linked in my sig (pgs 4, 5 and 6). There is a photo of her hand a few days after treatment, with scabs. And another once pigmentation had faded. There is also a photo of my neck PIH and healing.

Yes, talk to your electrologist of the IBP. If she has enough interest in moving forward to achieve an equally effective treatment, reducing the skin reaction, she would appreciate any suggestions.

@stoppit- My hairs were MUCH worse!! Those scabs are normal looking, but mine looked like someone dug into my skin with a knife!! They were huge scabs, and now i’m left with marks where it looks like the hair was, because its where the hair use to be, and its darker than the rest of my finger so it sticks out more!

What can I do about it?

Would you be willing to submit quality pictures? The Laurier IBP would be helpful to use perhaps. Hyperpigmentation is not always avoidable no matter how careful we work on an area. It can take months to fade.

A few points, Marie:

  • Yes, Fino Gior is awesomely fast, but I think he retired a few years ago. You can still clear the area just as well without Fino and come out on top by saving your time and money on the travel.

  • Order some Laurier IBP’s yourself rather than ask your electrologist about them. People who haven’t used them are likely to just give you an excuse why you don’t need them.

  • Speed isn’t everything. Precise work - is. If you need to choose between speed and quality, pick quality any day, as this is what affects the kill rate of the hair and the side effects on your skin. If you are very prone to hyperpigmentation, I would sacrifice some speed for focusing on perfecting each individual insertion.

  • Perfecting the insertions, using only the necessary settings (start settings low, and raise until it’s effective enough), using good equipment (high-end epilator, Laurier IBP’s, sufficient magnification), will help prevent hyperpigmentation.
