My electrolysis experience

Hey,

I just started electrolysis in Vancouver, Canada, and just wanted to report on my initial experience, which was yesterday.

The tech I went to seemed really good - she has 23 years experience, and is certified – she graduated from the Canadian Electrolysis College, and also serves on the examining board for the professional electrologists association of B.C., so I figured she would know what she is doing. When I went in for the treatment, she gave me a lot of info about the process without me prompting her, so I thought that that was also a good sign.

I actually have kind of a weird situation – I really don’t have much hair on my face, except for a patch of 10 extremely coarse hairs under my chin. I’ve continually plucked and shaved them, and they became ingrown, creating scars.

It took me a lot of willpower to avoid doing anything to the hair while they were growing out in preparation for electrolysis. The hairs are located right where I put my hand when I’m resting my head on my hand, so it was very easy for me to form a habit of picking at the scars and the hair.

Anyway, she treated the hair with blend and it only took a few minutes. Then she also did a few finer hairs above my upper lip. She asked me how long the hair usually took to grow back after I plucked them – I told her about 2-3 weeks, and she said that that’s probably when I’d have to come back for another treatment.

So far everything looks good - my skin is not irritated at all, save for the scar that was there before the treatment, and I only had very slight redness for about an hour afterward. She told me she used an insulated needle in order to prevent my skin from burning outside the hair follicle.

Anyway, I’ll report back on how successful this treatment was in a few weeks!

Congratulations on finding a good practitioner!!!

sounds good, i hope it was successful! it might take a few treatments in the same area to assess that though.

but your skin reaction is the same as mine with blend, so sounds good

Hi Meumar,

This is great to hear

Best wishes and I look forward to reading how you are getting on,
