Manuka honey is so overpriced here in Australia. I wonder if it actually has anything in it that is better than wildflower honey. All honey is naturally antibiotic, in fact.
Thank you very much, dear Bryce. You are a true gentleman.
If someday you come to Spain, it will be a real pleasure for me to welcome you.
PD: Your Spanish is charming. It was very easy for me to understand you.
Has anyone had their nose hair treated?
Peace1: OUCH!!!
It is a rather sensitive area, and it is probably best to do a little at a time. They are usually very tiny and weak, and one gets hardly any regrowth. What method of electrolysis are you having? Using an apilus electrolysis unit would make is easier, as in, less discomfort ,and less regrowth using the pico flash method.
Is the hair on top of your nose (outside)? Very easy to do with PicoFlash or MicroFlash thermolysis.
Yes, on top.
Oh I didn’t know it would be painful But I can take it lol.
Erm my electrologist uses blend and diarthermy, no Apilus, PicoFlash or MicroFlash thermolysis.
I just have loooads of tiny hairs and some are darker than others.
To me it looks like my whole nose looks hole-y coz of it and that means that where each hair comes out of the skin, there is a deeper hole, which i don’t like.
Casually, this lovely client has been voluntary provided, Peace1, to help you to determine the degree of pain in the area. She is very, very, very sensitive to pain. However, she wants me to tell you these words: NO OUCH!!!
The two hairs have been treated and she is the first surprised!!

after:
Wow it looks so red after but there’s no hair! So cool! Thank you for your post and tell her my appreciation for that too!
Seborrheic skin of this woman and the high vascularity in the area, are factors that favor the immediate reddening of the skin. The picture was taken immediately after Electrolysis.
I am sure that in 20 minutes, the original color has returned to be the same.
She thanks you to you, Peace1. I’m sure she never would have tried if I did not ask it as a personal favor. You have given him the motivation to try. I’m sure the next area it will be the tip of the nose.
A hug and thanks to you.
Josefa
I was thinking the same, that it probably returned to it’s normal self a little later.
So… to all the Parkside visitors, apart from Sharon, who else is recommended?
Might as well get started now.
I went for a 30 minute appointment today to get started and I think probably the eyebrow area hurts more for me (just a sting) and sideburns but the upper lip wasn’t too bad. Overall the pain isn’t too much but I was thinking laser hurts less than this lol. But once I was outside I was fine, there really isn’t much pain, especially if I concentrate on something other than electrolysis.
Anyway I asked for an overall facial hair reduction or it will look odd with me having hair one day and not the next. My main concerns are my eyebrows and my upper lip, but I do have some hairs on my chin that could go, as well as sideburns.
So she started with the eyebrows, around them and in the middle although when I came home I was a bit wary of the shape so I think next time I will say what I want it to look like, also the sides of my upper lip looks great - it’s reduced and you can’t really tell (well I can if I look really close in the mirror) and if I carry on like that I will be really pleased.
The odd hair on the sideburn area was removed too but not sure how much, just a few.
Hmm, not too sure if I need to post pics because it’s only a reduction so I don’t think it will be of much use anyway but - I’ve joined the treatment diaries! Great!
Okay I want some advice.
I can post pictures if you want but an overall is this as I have explained before:
I have Asian skin, and dark hair on my face but I wouldn’t define it as coarse, I just have loads of hair all over my face such as:
In between the eyebrows (well there’s no in-between)
Around the eyebrows (including towards the side)
Sideburns (to be honest they don’t bug me as much)
Upper lip hair (all over, not coarse but many fine hairs)
Chin (some dark, long ones which I know if removed will help my look as it makes my skin look darker/more like messier)
So really it’s like I need hairs taken off here and there to make my face look neater except for my eyebrows and upper lip which need total removing HOWEVER these latter two places - I don’t want total clearance at once because I really have no self-confidence and worry people will notice.
So… I went for a half an hour appointment today and said where I wanted hairs removed and we did so in all places apart from chin (I also wanted nose done but will leave that for later).
I came home, look in the mirror and did find that she did reduce the hairs on the sides of the upper lip so it doesn’t look like much difference although I notice, so if she carries on like that all across the upper lip that would be good - but around my eyebrows I feel I have too many hairs.
I am feeling quite jealous of the speed compared to James and Dee but she is really good here, just I guess I was hoping for more at once.
What I did was book another half hour appointment for tomorrow so maybe I can see more of a difference myself but I am looking for advice on here for what to do:
Should I work on one area at a time e.g. eyebrows, then upper lip, then chin, then nose, then sideburns? Any other suggestions? Comments welcome anytime.
As the eyebrows seem to trouble you the most, perhaps spend half of the time on those, and then do a little from all of the other areas.
I have noticed I get really bad headaches for a few days after electrolysis. I mean, I don’t normally get them nor has anything changed. It only happens when I get the eyebrow area treated, during the session I can feel a lot of pain against my skull (forehead) and I think it hurts more than upper lip. At least U know something’s happening now lol. My journey has finally started!
It probably has less to do with electrolysis and more to do with the stress of all this on you. You’re probably also tensing up from the pain during treatment. Make sure to relax, drink lots of water, and take a painkiller before treatment.
I agree with LAgirl.
My sister had 30mins worth of forehead treatment alone on Thursday (glabella and between eyebrow&forehead). She was fine but she did take a painkiller a while before starting.
I took a painkiller and I also felt realxed and didn’t tense up during the treatment - I do that for upper lip here and there but it’s the exact same feeling I get when the forehead is done that I get the next day after treatment and a few days after too, maybe it’s just me. I personally don’t think I would be able to take 30 mins like that.
Stoppit can I ask how many appointment your sister has had in mins/hours so far?
What are you focusing on during those days?
You may be causing the headache via TMJ stress. If you are biting down or grinding your teeth in your pain reflex, you would possibly cause a rebound headache that way. If this is the case, you could try using a simple teeth guard like the ones used in sports to reduce, or eliminate this potential.
Pro-biotics and vitamin B complex at night would also help elevate the pain tolerance some as well. (Assuming one was avoiding caffeine and getting enough sleep, water and so on.)
I had another 30 minute appointment today and I must say I felt it hurt more than other days. I can bare it though. Regarding my headache, well after working on the upper lip we worked on the eyebrow area and when she started, I didn’t move or anything but she did question as soon as she started there: are you okay? She said that area feels very tender. I think that is why I get the headaches.
Things are looking better now. Although not getting total clearance, I am starting to see the difference - even if no one else can!
Got a few tiny spots in the area though, need to get rid of them asap.
