I had started electrolysis on my chin in august. I cant bare the pain for more than 15 minutes so I have been keeping my sessions for 15 mins once a week or 2 weeks. I want to get rid of the hair on my face near my ear. I am not sure if I will sustain the pain on this larger and denser area. As the hair near the ear is thin and smooth and black in color I am not sure which permanent treatment do I go for. Please suggest. Thanks.
If your electrologist has surgical magnfication and one of the better computerized epilators on the market today, perfect insertions, correct probe size, you would be surprised how the word “pain” disappears from your vocabulary when referring to electrolysis. However, I will admit that some clients are highly sensitive no matter how good the set up is.
I was reviewing your past posts and was wondering if you could keep your questions on one thread so we don’t have to go on a search for your story?
What machine and method are being used for your electrolysis? All are not created equal and pain can be almost eliminated by using a newer machine and thermolysis type of electrolysis that goes fast. There are also numbing creams available.
So my electrologist does a thermolysis using an epilator named fischer… I asked her about flash, microflash, picoflash… and she said that flash will be good for larger areas apart from facial. She said that flash is very painful and uses a very high intensity which is not good for facial skin. I am still finding some electrologist in my area (bay area) who is enough skilled in flash, micro flash and uses modern epilators…
There are tons of electrologists in the Bay. I’ve recently posted a list of at least 20-30 somewhere on here, many in your area. So I’m sure lots of them use the newer machines like Apilus. Thermolysis or microflash etc are NOT more painful. Newer computerized epilators are usually a lot LESS painful, especially in good hands. I think you need to run a Google search, check out our “how to find an electrologist” thread, and start calling around to see what various electrologists in your area use.
Fischer and thermolysis are fine, but have you had sample treatments from any other electrologists? The thing is it’s hard to assess how much better it could be if you don’t sample around first.
I don’t agree with your electrologist’s statement on flash for facial hair. Keep searching and draw your own conclusions.
I hesitate to recommend techniques to a client, but that Fischer has a lot of options to help with discomfort. Pulsing technology for one…
Those Fischer guys need to provide training like Dectro does.
Training? People are willing to pay for training?
