Not sure if it's working!!!???

Hello everyone,

I am desperate for some feedback on this….I’ve been doing electrolysis on my face for well over 4 month, I am now noticing some really dark and thick hairs on my chin and on a couple of moles that I have on my face. I know for a fact that I didn’t use to have them prior to start with electrolysis. I thought that the hair should get finer and finer, not thicker and thicker!!!
Has any one experienced this situation?
I am not sure if I should stop

Thanks

So the dark hairs you are referring to were not there and have never been noticed when you started treatments four months ago and thus, have never been treated. If they were never treated than how can you expect these hairs to be finer? This doesn’t make any sense. Electrolysis is not stimulating these hairs, something else is. If they had been treated in month one they would not be thicker and thicker, but rather just the opposite.

If I’m not understanding you, then would you please re-state your concern?

dfahey, I am dead serious about this, a couple of hairs on my chin have gotten darker and ticker. And I know they have been treated because I can tell they are re-growth.

HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED SOMETHING SIMILAR….I DON’T KNOW IF I SHOULD STOP!!!

Thanks

Hopefully, others will join the discussion to answer your concern since you are seeking consumer feedback. If you are this concerned, then stop treatments.

One question: Are you getting PROBE ELECTROLYSIS where the practitioner inserts a very thin metal probe into each individual follicle? Hopefully, we are not talking about gel pads or electric tweezers.

It doesn’t make sense that IF a hair was even partially treated one time, that it should be coming back thicker. It doesn’t. If the original hair was not in the right stage of growth to begin with or there was not enough treatment energy used in the first removal, then the hair was just plucked and of course it will come back the same as before!

Electrolysis works and it does not cause hair to become thicker and darker.

We try very hard to explain to the consumer the electrolysis process and how to be successfull and we take every concern and question seriously. We do this to the point of redundancy. If you are looking elsewhere for answers to your concerns, I sincerly hope others will comment as I have said all I can to reassure you.

Portugal,

Did you tweeze those hairs on your face before you began electrology treatments?

When did you start noticing the hair? Is it a recent thing?

It is nearly impossible to tell if a hair showing up after treatment is a “re-growth”. If the hairs are becoming coarser, then there very likely IS something else going on.

Please don’t be offended by the questions - we want to help you figure out if you need to change electrologists or if you need to seek a physician referral for hormones. Good electrology treatments will result in finer hair (if it starts out very coarse) and less hair. Bad electrology treatments will result in ingrown hair, skin problems and coarser hair…
