I just wanted to know if it’s a good idea to do electrolysis 4 hrs a week, to speed up the completion. The reason I want to go for so long, is because I want to clear A LOT OF AREAS! and I don’t want to be doing this for 10 years!! Also, I’m not looking for COMPLETE hair to be gone, but I want to look like a normal female, I.E. soft baby hairs. Mine are dark and longer than normal, meaning you can see them from standing right in front of me, even 3 feet away. I want to be able to go swimming when I want.
So I figure if I go 4 hrs a week for a year that should give me a good completion? Help me out professionals, you guys have experience. Would going this amount a week help significantly or will I still be going for years?
There is no downside. As long as you’re not overtreating any one area (treating way too many follicles that are close together), there is no reason not to do it. In fact, you should do it that way if you want fastest treatments possible overall.
You won’t need to go in 4hrs per week for a year. The point is to go in often up front to get a full clearance, and then come in every 2-3 weeks to CLEAR the area of any new hair that pops up each time. The time between these appts will gradually slow down since less and less hair will be showing up with time.
The longer you are on the table in the beginning, the quicker you will get a first, full clearance. Not all electrologists offer longer appointments because it takes on toll on their back, neck and shoulders when they go over 45 minutes. They are more likely to work several hours if they have a quality vision set up, but I’m hearing that many use reading glasses!
I LOVE IT when a new client gives me the time to clear the hair off asap. If they are willing to accept some swelling for a couple days, it is worth it. People want the hair OFF FAST and any electrologist that gets the proper equipment and proper training can do this. It is the best way to serve the hairy.
If you have about 800-1,200 blond peach fuzz per square inch, you may be satisfied in about 2-3 years going 4-5 hours a month using PicoFlash or MIcroFlash thermolyhsis. That’s the extreme of what it takes. I have clients who look great, but insist on going further and further in the attempt to get all peach fuzz. The best they can hope for is a significant removal of hair, but there will always be hair growing on a woman’s face, however, it will be smaller and less noticeable if there is nothing stimulating it to grow longer.
800-1200 hairs per square inch!!! Whoa that’s a lot! I am looking at my stomach at the moment and I don’t think i have that many per square inch…I have maybe 50-100.
That’s the problem i face too. It’s hard to find an electrologyst that will do hours at a time. So right now I do 2 hours a week, but I spread the time out over the course of the week (2 one hour sessions). If you live in a big City try looking for multiple electrologysts and maybe set up appointments with more than one? Just a suggestion.
