Has anyone experienced pitting from electrolysis? I think that I have pitting going on under my arms, and I’m scared that they will be there forever. My mom had electrolysis done before, and she says that it will heal, and that its not a scar. I’m scared that it is. I’ve been doing electroylsis for about 2 years now, and I just want regular skin. I will update with a picture later, but I just want to get some help from you all.

Can you expand on your electrolysis treatments a bit? Healing, how often, modality being used? How much hair is left? Anything?
You know, the axilla area usually has very large hair follicles, and many people have the area treated because they get ingrown hairs. Large “pores” could look like pitting, especially once the hairs are gone.
A picture and the information that Dee requested would be helpful. I’m curious if you have had regular clearings for the 2 years and how much is left.
Well, maybe I wouldn’t consider it two years. I haven’t been going every month or the often that I should have gone, and thats why I believe that it took this long. So the time span has been two years, but I haven’t gone for many treatments. I really didn’t know that you should go during the phases of the hair so I waited and they grew kinda long.
The area is almost clear. I would say maybe there are like 20 hairs left under my arms, or maybe less, I might be exaggerating.
I have some brown spots too, that I thought came from the sun, but I’m not sure if its from that.
Also, my lady that does it for me said to use calamine lotion on it…is that correct?
Calamine lotion is fine, xo. Do you tan on your underarms? Are the brown spots small or is there a larger area that looks darker? If it is more like the later, then that color variation could be hormonal.
Twenty hairs sounds very good, if that is truly all you have left, especially if haven’t been going every month. Hmm? It’s too bad that it wasn’t stressed to you to keep consistent appointments after getting cleared, but all sounds pretty good in view of the scant amount of hair you have left.
I tanned maybe a couple times but I didn’t lift my arms up, but it might have gotten some sunlight. The brown spots are a few… and its small.

You need to find a web page where the image is hosted (if it ia a personal picture, you need to post it on a site like Photobucket.com or Flicker.com and then click on the Image button (3rd from left in the post box button line, right next to the email link button that looks like an envelope) and then put the internet address of the picture in the box that comes up for the picture link. Then you click “ok” and finish your text, and submit your post with picture included.

The reason I am posting this is that some skin just simply has larger pores and some people have discoloration due to genetics or hormones.
