Pitting???

Hello
I just had electrolosis three days ago. I was getting a thin hair removed from my forhead with the blend method. My electrologist accidentally inserted the needle into an area with no hair. It caused a scab to form. She told me to be careful not to pick at it. I made sure to keep it clean and to apply neosporin to keep it from getting infected. But today as I was getting out of the shover the scab came off as I was drying my face with the towel. It seems to have left a depression in my skin. I am really worried that a pit has formed. It’s three days after my treatment and I am wondering if there is anything I can do to avoid a permanant pit! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanx

also, it was at the end of my session. there was only one hair on my forhead that I wanted to remove, so the needle was a little thinner that what should have been used.

So did she get this one big hair on your forehead? I’m assuming she missed the follicle the first time. Does she use quality vision wear? How big was the scab? Scabs usually form in 48 hours and do not just fall off on their own at that stage or even at day three. Junk the neosporin. You don’t need it and it could cause an allergic reaction that you will blame on electrolysis.

Do you have any aloe vera gel and tea tree oil? Those products would be better to use. This should heal if you take care of it properly with pure ingredients like aloe and tea tree. Mother Nature will do her thing as well. I can’t see the area of course, but scarring and pitting is rare with electrolysis.

It was actually a thin hair, not a big one and yes she did remove it. She does wear quality eyewear. I have been going to her for the last few months and this is the first time it has happened (she uses blend). This scab is about the size of the average pimple. It formed within the first day. The scab then fell off on day three after I showered and wiped my face with a towel. So I guess you can say that I may have accidentally rubbed it off although I was not rubbing hard. I do have tea tree oil and aloe vera gel and am currenlty using them. I have used neosporin before after electrolysis and have not gotten an allergic reaction and was using it now because my electrologist had recommended it.
I guess I am worried now becase when the scab came off it kind of looks like a pit. There is a clear indentation in the skin. I don’t have any pitting so I am not quite sure what that would look like as comparison. But I guess my question is, can you see pitting within three days after electrolosis? This could just be the natural healing process but can missing the hair with the probe result in what looks like a pock mark on the skin?

So this was truly a hard brown scab?

You can develop a sensitivity to neosporin anytime. If there is a change, then think of that possiblity. I really don’t see why anyone needs antibiotic creams after electrolysis with better, natural products like witch hazel, aloe vera gel and tea tree oil.

Pitting is seen way down the road. No, you cannot see it three days after electrolysis. What you are seeing now is the healing process and re-structuring. Use a good quality aloe vera gel as close to pure as possible.

Will you report back here and tell everyone when it is healed completely?

Thanks,

Dee
