question about healing

Hi there–

I got electrolysis on my upper lip eleven days ago and there are still red bumps at the corners of my mouth. Is this normal? Is it permanent?? I believe the electrologist is very good. She is licensed and uses an Apilus machine. Is there anything I can do to help the area heal? I know I have very sensitive skin.

thanks so much.

A picture would really help to advise you here.

In general, you should go 24 to 72 hours keeping the treated area clean and dry. That means NO MAKE-UP ladies!

Pure Aloe Vera can be used all day long as often as you like to help the area heal faster, and Tea Tree Oil may be applied at bed time in order to speed healing while you sleep, and as an added bonus, dissolve any necrotic tissue and puss that may have formed.

Upper lip is a sensitive area. How long was the treatment? Was it your first? Did you show this to your electrologist? Was this same area retreated before it had a chance to heal? Settings can be adjusted next time if your electrologist knows.

Get some tea tree oil and witch hazel if you haven’t already and use them after treatments and now to help the area heal.

Let her know about the healing. You’ll be fine, but this kind of reaction can be minimized. Let her know and do the aftercare that James outlined.
