The electrologist I used in the past seems too hard to get an appointment with these days, and I saw you suggested Tina Reynolds. I “googled” her # and I guess there are a number of people working there. Are all of them just as good or do you suggest I see her specifically. I have a consultation on Saturday.
She started the business and recently hired 2 more people to help her because she got so busy. I go to her specifically, so I don’t really know how the other 2 women are. They’re all using the Apilus machines.
Please check your “inbox” for a PM
Nice to see you still around and posting RedHead.
Hi James, good to be back. Been a looooong time. While I got you on the line, let me run something by you. I’m going to get electrolysis on my shoulders and around my collar. It’s not a huge amount of hair but it really bothers me and I want it gone…electrolysis gone, meaning total and permanent removal.
My upper back hair is also bothering me, but it’s obviously a large area, and I don’t care if it’s bare, I just want the long coarse hairs gone. An IPL place is offering a great package for the upper back, and based on previous experience I think it will make the hair finer and lighter, and remove some completely. This will be very cheap, quick and virtually painless compared to electrolysis, but obviously results are limited. I figure for the price they’re offering, why not see what results I get and then hopefully attack specific areas with electrolysis if I feel the need.
Right now the plan in my head is to simultaneously begin electrolysis on the shoulders and IPL on the upper back. Other than your questions about IPL’s effectiveness, do you see any problems with that approach?
As I have always said, “If you have the money to gamble with, the only thing one risks with LASER is burns and stripping. If you don’t have the money to risk, go for what works every time.”
Just make sure you give the skin a rest in between appointments.
Just had a little work done to see how it felt. Guess what James, you are 100% correct about equipment making a huge difference. The Electrolgist I saw, I used about 8 or 9 years ago. She recently replaced her old machine with the “Aplilus”. With the old machine we needed to use lidocaine injections. This time I used nothing. It went quicker, was about 50 times less painfull, and I have barely any redness right now.
She says other clients are mad at at her thinking about all the pain they went through before she updated, and I don’t blame them. It make a huge difference.
I might just do elecrolysis now, and not have the IPL at all.
We start in earnest next week where I will try to do a 2 hour session without any numbing agents. This was unthinkable to me before today, and I’ll report how it goes.
You will finally get the ultimate result you have been searching for since 2003 or earlier. Not sure where all this began for you, redhead.
Are you referring to the Apilus Platinum? I just updated to the Platinum, but have not incorporated it into my practice yet. Getting close, though. Doing work on friends and relatives until I feel very comfortable.
We’ll look forward to hearing about your experience. Thanks, redhead.
I think my mailbox was full. I didn’t get your msg.
Tina is very busy…
I’m interested in knowing about the other electrologists as well, so if anybody has tried the other two electrologists that work in her office, please provide a review.
Thanks,
I’ve seen Tina once and Chava(pronounced Hava) one of the people who works out of her office about 5x times now. This is my first time having the procedure done and I don’t really have much to base her performance off of. She is very nice, but I will say that the one time I saw Tina she seemed a lot more confident. However, I haven’t had anything bad happen with Chava. I would say give one of the new people a try.
