Questions

Hi all,

I am having electrolysis done on my shoulders and harms. She’s using Short Wave and is targeting the longer darker hairs first. My questions is, once those hairs start coming out again (re-growing) wont they get confused with the smaller lither hairs that are not getting treated? I am afraid I am wasting my money by doing it this way…also I can not clean it up all at once because that would take @5-6 hours each arm, and I absolutely can no afford it!!
One other question I have is, approximately how long it will take to finish considering that I am doing @2h a week.
My final question is what are the current settings for the arms? She’s using a needle size 4, as for the current she is using 66.

You would have to know how many hairs per minute she is removing, and how many hairs you have in the treatment area to have a chance of estimating that answer.

I think her initial attack of getting the thicker, darker hairs is good. Shaving the area 3 days before a treatment would be very helpful because those GROWING hairs would pop out and say, “Attack me first!” You would get more for your money by having the ability and sense to go and attack GROWING HAIR ONLY (ANAGEN).

Permanent hair removal is not meant to bring success quickly. Laser or electrolysis is totally dependent on mother natures cyclic hair growth orders. You can’t help it and your electrologist can’t help it. We are working with the cards that are dealt to us at a particular time.

Get the hair cleared off fast and keep it cleared off until there is nothing left to zap anymore. If you don’t put your time in up front to get clearance, you will not acheive your goal. If your electrologist is too slow and is not using enough power,or the correct probe size, you will not reach your goal. Work toward clearance of one area, keep track of new hairs that come forth in the first area and zap those hairs and then go on to the next area and do the same thing. Punch, punch go, go!

Microflash thermolysis, in my opinion, is the most efficient and deadliest way to get this done, within a time frame that excites the client. We are also in the business of spreading hope and must constantly teach the client like yourself about the strategy used and where to place their expectations.

Problem is, if you don’t have a skilled electrologist, using the right strategies with the best equipment the mountain is steeper and higher to climb. If you can’t come close to someone that offers a decent treatment with speed, then keep your expectations a little lower. You will still get permanent hair removal.

The numbers you gave mean nothing to me as I have a different machine, but most importantly, I don’t have the advantage of knowing anything about your skin type or hair density. I can offer you this advice: make sure the hair slides out. No plucking sensation. If you have coarse or very coarse hair, I would lean toward using a size 5 or 6 probe, instead of a size 4.

like Dee said, you should use the shaving strategy so that you make sure to only kill the hairs that are in the right growing phase each time and not waste time on others.
