Red bumps...or not

I was wondering about red bumps, and acne look alikes after electrolysis treatment…
Like i mentioned in my previous post, i had my first treatment yesterday. It lasted for one hour. Right after it was done there was some redness, but 15-20 minutes later there wasnt anything on my face that would sugest i had my hair removed, other than little itsy swelling. I am still litle swollen today, but it wouldnt be obvious to anyone who never met me. Only my husband can tell. There isnt any bumps or redness whatsoever. Is this okay ? Does it mean i have good electrologist or not? because almost everyone i read about here had some skin issues at least first few times of treatment. By the way, hairs on my face were unaltered (never shaved or waxed-plucked).Maybe thats why.
Maybe it`s a silly post but i was wondering about this.

Be happy. If your electrologist uses the newer computerized epilators WITH SKILL, this non-reaction is very common. That’s why electrologists and clients love the newer tools. Whatever equipment she uses, this is a good outcome, so don’t worry.

I do wish more consumers will respond to this and other questions you might have so you hear about electrolysis from their perspective.

Not a silly post,so don’t apologize for that.

Your lucky, means your skin is not that sensitive in addition to finding a skilled electrologist to have minimum downtime.

as long as you didn’t feel the hair being plucked and it slid out during treatment without resistance, you are getting skilled treatments and there is nothing to worry about. i would still use witch hazel for a few days after to help the skin heal fastest.

I just had second one hour session today. Again, no reaction whatsoever, beside little swelling. As to hair being plucked, i must admit that i felt 3 to 5 being plucked, or maybe not plucked, but giving some resistance. majority of them slides right out. I think she is still trying to get the right setting, the one that will be most confortable, because i am neither taking advil nor i have the numbing cream. I have to go one more time, for an hour to get first clearance on my upper lip. Already i fell different, and its easier to live with it. Right now i cant even tell i have hairs there, unless i look in the mirror really closely.
Pain is definetely worth it.
As to hair being plucked, those few that i felt, i am not sure if they were truly plucked, because once upon time, i tried plucking from my upper lip and it hurt like crazy. These few felt like they resisted a little. Should i talk to her about that, or is it normal that some of the hairs don`t respond to the same setting as the rest that come out easily?

Just starting out, the hairs present may be in all stages of growth. Some have moist bulbs that slide out nicely when the correct treatment energy is used and some have hard, dry white bulbs that can be resistant. Those are probably the ones you are feeling??? I think it sounds normal, but do ask her. There’s no harm in asking.

Dee

sounds normal. there are always a couple thicker hairs that you feel more when they slide out, especially when you first start out as Dee said.

They have wonderful recomendation. I am pretty confident that they will do a good job for me. I read about Arizona laser online, and it seems that they got awesome feedback from transgendered people, being more than satisfied with electrolysis that they had done.
I will, of course, post as i go along, because there is no one from Arizona that is currently osting in the forum. Maybe my experience will help someone find a good electrologist in the future. Thanks for answering my questions, you made me feel a lot better. Thank you once again.

that maria place in phoenix has been recommended by several people in terms of laser treatments that they perform. i would definitely try it.

Onward, sanny! We’ll be hanging around if you need us.

Now the funny thing is that we will most likely get a new installment of Kim Williams accusing us here at HairTell of being paid to plug that place in Arizona over her place. As silly as that sounds, she will devote pages and pages of net space on alleging that we are grinding an ax against her.

Some of her stuff is awfully entertaining for the sheer outrageousness of her imagined self-importance.

Kim, we don’t lose sleep thinking about you (except when you are calling us and waking us up while we have been sleeping)

It will be good to have someplace that someone has had good work done at, so we can recommend to people.

Just for the sake of the information, i called two more places here in Phoenix today. I was wondering how much they charge per hour when compared to Arizona laser and electrolysis, where is that i personally choose to go.
I wont name places though. First place i called was a disappointment. It was definetely more near my house, and it would take me 5 minutes to drive there. Lady who answered the phone told me that the hour was 55 dollars, and hung up on me. She did say "YOure welcome" after i thanked her for the information. She didnt really bother with asking me if id like to make appontment or what my problem is.
Second place i called was major joke. She had no clue how much is the cost for the electrolysis per hour. She put me on hold. After 7 minutes of waiting, someone picked up the reciever and hung up.
My husbands comment was that i picked up a nice spot to get treated and i am "All set". I agree. When i called marias place, the lady who works the phones and scheduling spoke to me over 15 minutes, explaining what to expect and what electrolysis is,etc… She made me so at ease, and all the embarassment went away.
As for Kimberly, i never said i wouldnt give her a try. Maybe she would do better job for me, maybe equal, maybe worse. Trouble is that shes at least 50 minutes drive away, and since shes in a little more expenssive part of a town, id be probably paying more than 65 bucks per hour. I really wish someone would post who had some work done with Boston school of electrolysis. I am curious.

Kimberly does use a computerized epilator,so if I were you, I wouldn’t hesitate to try her if you ever have need of her services.

It is so interesting to hear comments from consumers like yourself that call electrologists and get such looney responses or little response at all. That’s why I advise anybody who has a good electrologist to apppreciate her/him with a little huggy.
