I’ve come this far in my treatment, I’m not sure if I should stop. I’ll be finished with my Accutane course in March. I want to continue, but am very worried about these hyperpigmentation marks. Does Accutane slow healing or does it stop healing? Also is it possible that I was already prone to hyperpigmentation? I’m a fair skinned African American (about Vanessa Williams’ complexion).
Ask your derm about how to fade the hyperpigmentation. The book Skin Type Solution explains a lot about hyperpigmentation. I sympathize because I get brown marks on my body from scars, and I have some from an electrologist who left bloody pits on my feet during a test patch last spring that still haven’t gone away. Thankfully I don’t get hyperpigmentation on my face somehow. I have a brown mark from a mild burn over 10 years ago that still hasn’t gone away ;(
