taking a break

I’m taking a break from electrolysis for the summer since I dont have a job, and cant afford it until I get one. is this really going to hurt my progress??? I’ve already stopped going in for about 3 weeks I do see alot of regrowth, but its not to bad. I can bleach, and shave until I can go back for treatments again.

it will hinder the progress a bit (so you won’t be done in 12 months total), but if you can’t get a summer job to cover the treatments, i guess you have no choice. basically, you’ll have to spend time treating hairs that are not in the right phase of growth once you start up again.

oh to be done in “12 months total”

Would I be bragging if I said that I could have gotten you done in 12 months total?

Oh, let me jump on the brag bus, too, James. You, me and many other electrolgists out there know that 2-3 years is insane for the areas that Rachel described. Rachell’s experience by far was way too slow for a variety of reasons already discussed here.

Rachell, the good news is that you will get finished, but I am so sorry that a nice person like yourself had to endure 2 1/2++ more? years of electrolysis. Electrolysis is not slow when all proper circumstances and skill factors are in place. I’m talking first clearance and maintenance thereafter, epilator and vision choice, length and frequency of appointments in the first six months, proper intensity and duration of the current(s), probe choice, etc.

Twelve months could have been in your reach rather than 2-3 years. We need better trained and educated electrologists in this world along with serious clients who follow advise that sets them up for success right from the get go.

It’s been 12 months I started excatly last year this time around…

Seems to me that I recall you started with LASER

heheh was my comment out loud??

thanks james and dee for your posts. Have i told you guys “I love you” lately? cause i do

By the way, you are indeed allowed to brag! hello! in fact i would brag for you. i mean if you are getting your clients done in 12 months i am so jeolous. You guys do a great job and to top it all of, you take the time to answer our questions no matter how silly or repetive they are.

no not on my face… I’ve never done laser on my face.

Good thing too. You know how we feel about LASER on the face.

Hi roma.

Could you expand on where you are today with your treatments? I don’t quite know how to read the “…” part. Please provide as much information as you can. No detail is too small :).

Thanks,

Dee

my sideburns, started last year around this time, I want to take a break from electrolysis this summer, I’ve already stopped, and I do see regrowth, the weird thing is i think I see more regrowth on my left side? will this be really hurting progress. I also want to give my skin a break, its red with spots, and i have acne where I gotten the hair removed. plus I think we went alittle to high on my side burns, Its alittle unatural.

I am in the process of doing laser on an area a bit larger than a quarter of dark hairs on my chin. It has helped a lot after only 2 sessions but as soon as I’m done with my 5 session package I want to switch to electrolysis since there are less hairs now and they are more scattered and there are other areas I need to address that only electrolysis will help. Can you point me to threads in the past concerning laser on the face so I don’t upset anyone by asking for a repeat?! Would the mustache at least be an ok area to do with laser?
The funny thing is that my mustache used to be my biggest problem and now it pales in comparison of concern to my chin and neck. Its funny how things seem so bad until something comes along to make it even worse!! I’m really trying to work on acceptance, right now. I know it doesn’t sound like it, but it is a tough journey and I finally found other travelers to relate to here on this forum.Thank you to all who spend the time to answer our q’s. It is nice to know someone cares.

For the face, and for such a small area, you really should have started and finished with electrolysis. Most people on this board would agree that for the face, one should stick to electrolysis. It is body work where more people disagree on what is the best course of action.
