Thinking of going to Electrolysis School... need a

There is a school nearby that offers a certification in 4 weeks (30hrs/week full time) and since I have the time available right now I am thinking of going. I have been battling excess hair myself and would love to learn how to do this to even treat myself but also to help others.
But, I have a few concerns. I know that this is not something anybody can do. What special skills/talents must an electrologist possess to be good at it? How likely is it to injure someone?

4 weeks is a great deal, I assume you are in a state that does not require licensing like NY and PA.

Among other things, it takes good eyesight, a steady hand, plenty of patience and determination.

If you have doubts, I would advise that you invest in some less expensive things to test your resolve. First up, get Mike Bono’s “The Blend Method: Real World Electrology”. If you are only buying one electrolysis text book (instead of many, like we advise) then this is the one book to get.

After you read that book cover to cover, you could try doing work on your own leg to start. That’s where most schools have newbies do their first insertions. If you find that you have what it takes to learn this, and that it is something that you would not feel abused to be doing 6 to 8 hours a day, then maybe you are on the right track.

Depending on where you are located (you are in violation of HairTell Pet Peeve #1, No Location In Profile) we may be able to hook you up with someone who already has equipment for you to try out.
